Ms Laurie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in "The Hustler" and for Supporting Actress for "Carrie" and "Children of a Lesser God". Despite the blade being golden, like the Academy Award statuette, "The Golden Blade" was not nominated for any awards.
