Answer: American Hustle

"American Hustle" is a 2013 film loosely based on the real-life ABSCAM scandal. Christian Bale and Amy Adams star as Irving Rosenfeld and Sydney Prosser. Rosenfeld and Prosser are a duo of con artists. After they are caught in a scam, FBI Agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) makes them a deal.

The pair then become part of a sting operation against Camden, New Jersey Mayor Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner). Jennifer Lawrence stars as Rosalyn, Irving's neurotic wife. She was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this role but lost to Lupita Nyong'o for "12 Years a Slave".
2. Tiffany Maxwell, who falls for a man released from a mental home

"Silver Linings Playbook" is a 2011 romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany Maxwell. Tiffany meets Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) who was just released from a mental institute. Tiffany suffers from depression brought about by the death of her husband while Pat suffers from bipolar disorder.

In this 2010 film, Jennifer Lawrence plays Ree Dolly. Ree and her family are destitute and live in the poor Ozarks region of Arkansas. She is the primary caregiver for her family as her mother is mentally ill and her siblings are too young to fend for themselves.

Her father, Jessup, is a runaway fugitive and Ree must find him before the sheriff (Garret Dillahunt) takes the family house away as it was put up as collateral for Jessup's bail. Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar in 2011 for her role in this film but lost to Natalie Portman for "Black Swan".
4. Raven Darkholme a.k.a. Mystique, a shape shifter

Jennifer Lawrence first played Mystique in the 2011 film "X-Men: First Class" and has played her in several of the series' later films. Mystique is the alter ego of Raven Darkholme, Professor X's (James McAvoy) adopted sister of sorts. Mystique is a shape shifter and is, in her natural form, blue and scaly. According to an interview with Lawrence, she revealed that it took over eight hours to apply the full-body makeup for Mystique.

"House at the End of the Street" is a 2012 horror film starring Jennifer Lawrence as Elissa Cassidy. Elissa and her family recently moved into a home where a family was murdered by the young daughter named Carrie Ann (Gracie Tucker) who ran away afterward.

The only survivor of this massacre was the brother Ryan (Max Thieriot) who now lives in a different house at the end of the street. Ryan is shunned by the neighborhood except for his new friend Elissa. Elissa is constantly warned not to befriend Ryan but does so anyway. Ryan tells Elissa that Carrie Ann did not run away after the murders and he has been taking care of her while confining her to the basement.
6. Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire

Jennifer Lawrence debuted the role of Katniss Everdeen in the 2012 film "The Hunger Games" and reprised the role for the three subsequent sequels. The series is based on the books of the same name written by Suzanne Collins.

The series is set in the dystopian land of Panem where every year the children of Panem are forced to fight in a battle to the death called the Hunger Games. Katniss volunteers for the 74th Games in order to save her younger sister Primrose (Williow Shields). The male tribute from her district is Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) who proclaims his love for Katniss, which is both genuine and a ploy to become popular with the Games' audience. Katniss feels indebted to Peeta because he saved her from starving years before. Meanwhile, Katniss also has feelings for her childhood friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth). As the Games rage on and Katniss and Peeta fight for survival, they realize they have become symbols of a larger movement toward freedom and away from the heinous reign of President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The subsequent revolution and rebellion is more prominent in the film's sequels than in the original "Hunger Games" film.
7. Aurora Lane, a space traveler

Answer: Passengers

"Passengers" is a 2016 sci-fi film starring Chris Pratt as Jim Preston and Jennifer Lawrence as Aurora Lane. Jim and Aurora are space travelers on their way to a new planet. They and many other travelers were placed in pods to preserve themselves so they can settle a far away planet that takes over 100 years to get to. However, Jim's pod malfunctions and he is woken up prematurely. Realizing he will not live long enough to arrive at the new planet, Jim tries to make the best of his journey, he befriends Arthur (Michael Sheen) the spaceship's robot bartender since there are no other humans awake. Jim grows lonely and awakens Aurora from her pod for company but lets her believe her pod also malfunctioned.

Jim and Aurora argue when Arthur accidentally tells Aurora that Jim purposely woke her up. But those tensions must be put aside when Jim and Aurora discover an asteroid has damaged the ship.
8. Norah, whose boyfriend is embarrassed by his dad and his dad's puppet

Answer: The Beaver

In this 2011 film, Mel Gibson plays Walter Black. Walter suffers from depression because his large toy company went bankrupt, his wife Meredith (Jodie Foster) left him and he doesn't get along with his oldest son Porter (Anton Yelchin). Walter becomes so depressed he begins to only communicate via a beaver hand puppet, which embarrasses Porter. Porter begins to have feelings for Norah (Jennifer Lawrence) who has Porter write her graduation speech for her. Walter tries to put his family back together but fails to overcome the beaver's hold on him.
9. Mariana, who accidentally kills her mother and her mother's lover

Answer: The Burning Plain

In this 2008 film, Jennifer Lawrence stars as Mariana. Mariana's mother Gina (Kim Basinger) is having an affair with a married man named Nick (Joaquim de Almeida). Mariana tries to keep them apart but accidentally kills them both when she sets Nick's trailer on fire. Mariana then becomes pregnant by Nick's son Santiago (JD Pardo). Mariana abandons Santiago and their daughter and changes her name to Sylvia. Adult Sylvia/Mariana is played by Charlize Theron.
10. Ms. Pemberton, a timber baroness

Answer: Serena

In the 2014 film "Serena", Jennifer Lawrence stars as the titular Serena Pemberton while Bradley Cooper plays Serena's husband George. The film is set during the Great Depression. Serena and George operate a timber company that is really George's but Serena slowly begins to dominate not only the business but George as well.

Serena's domineering causes a rift between George and his business partner Buchanan (David Dencik) and after an argument George kills Buchanan. The incident is witnessed by a worker named Campbell (Sean Harris) but the death is ruled an accident. However, Campbell discovers that the Pembertons having been bribing a senator and threatens to expose that scandal and reveal that George killed Buchanan on purpose.
