A con-man (Michael J. Fox) investigates a series of mysterious deaths. He's assisted by some ghost friends of his, as well as a doctor whose husband was one of the victims. "The Frighteners" also starred Trini Alvarado, John Astin, R. Lee Ermey, Peter Dobson, Dee Wallace-Stone and Jake Busey. Peter Jackson also directed "Heavenly Creatures" and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

He and wife Fran Walsh wrote the screenplay and produced "The Frighteners".

Answer: Bette Midler

Nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Actress, Bette lost the Oscar to Sally Field for "Norma Rae". She did, however, win the Golden Globe. She also sang the title song, "The Rose", for which she won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. "The Rose", from 1979, also starred Alan Bates, Harry Dean Stanton, Frederic Forrest and David Keith.

"The Dish" (2000) was about the operators of a satellite dish in Australia at the time of the first moon landing. It starred Sam Neill, Tom Long, Kevin Harrington and Patrick Warburton. "The Abyss" (1989), about a group of underwater drillers encountering alien beings, starred Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Michael Biehn. "The Deep" (1977), about a couple vacationing in Bermuda who discover sunken treasure while scuba diving, starred Nick Nolte, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Shaw and Louis Gossett, Jr. "The Boat" (1981), German title "Das Boot", about the crew of a German U-boat during WWII, starred Juergen Prochnow and Herbert Groenemeyer.

Answer: Boxing

Jon Voight played Billy Flynn, a former boxing champion. He gave up the sport to take care of his young son after his wife left him, and now works at a racetrack. The boy meets his mother by chance at the racetrack, and after she realizes that he is her son, wants to have a relationship with him. Billy realizes he needs to be a better provider for his son and begins training to stage a boxing comeback.

The scene at the end in the locker room is one of the most heartbreaking movie moments I've ever seen. Ricky Schroder, Faye Dunaway and Jack Warden also starred in "The Champ". Jon Voight was nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Actor, and Schroder won the Golden Globe for New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture.

Answer: The Mummy

Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo and Oded Fehr starred in this entertaining movie which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Sound. "The Mummy" was followed by a sequel, "The Mummy Returns", in 2001.

Answer: The Majestic (2001)

"The Majestic" (2001) is about a black-listed screenwriter in the 50s, who loses his memory after a car accident. He finds himself in a small town, and is mistaken for a young man who was thought to have died in WWII. The movie starred Jim Carrey, Martin Landau and Laurie Holden.

In "The Bounty" (1984), Gibson starred with Anthony Hopkins, Liam Neeson and Daniel Day-Lewis, in a remake of "Mutiny on the Bounty". "The River" (1984) starred Gibson with Sissy Spacek and Scott Glenn. "The Patriot" (2000) starred Gibson with Tom Wilkinson, Adam Baldwin, Jason Isaacs and Chris Cooper.

Answer: The Divorcee

Chester Morris, Robert Montgomery and Conrad Nagel also starred in this 1930 movie about a young woman who finds out that her husband has cheated on her. While he's out of town on business, she sleeps with his friend to prove that there is a double standard for men and women. She and her husband divorce, but eventually realize that they still love each other. The movie was nominated for four Oscars, and won one for Norma for Best Actress. "The Kiss", from 1929, starred Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel and Lew Ayres. "The Birdcage", from 1996, starred Robin Williams, Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria. "The Apartment", from 1960, starred Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine.
