Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Naboo was the home planet of Queen Padmé Amidala, but also which other character from "The Phantom Menace"?

Answer: Jar Jar Binks

Naboo was a fertile and lush planet close to the Outer Rim where the movie "The Phantom Menace" starts. It is the home of Padmé Amidala, originally the elected Queen of Naboo and later the senator for the planet at the Galactic Senate. However, it is also the home of the Gungans, amphibious humanoids that lived in cities under the water of the planet, away from humans.

When Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn lands on the planet with his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, they inadvertently rescue a Gungan that is caught in the fighting. That Gungan, Jar Jar Binks, owes the two a life debt and accompanies them on their journeys.
2. Kashyyyk is seen in "Revenge of the Sith" as the planet that Yoda is on when Order 66 is given to destroy the Jedi Order across the galaxy. Which race is it home to?

Answer: Wookiees

Kashyyyk was the home-world of the Wookie species and the birthplace of Alliance hero Chewbacca. It was a forested planet and it can be seen in "Revenge of the Sith". Jedi Master Yoda says that he will lead a battalion of clones to Kashyyyk to protect it from the Trade Federation and strikes up a rapport with the Wookiees. When Order 66 is given, the Wookiees harbour Yoda and manage to get him off-world.

Kashyyyk was intended to be the location for the base protecting the Death Star in "Return of the Jedi", however, due to budgetary reasons, the location was changed to Endor.
3. Mustafar was a hot, hot planet which was strong in the Dark Side of the Force. Which character was left to die on the banks of a lava river of Mustafar?

Answer: Anakin Skywalker

Mustafar was a hot planet, filled with lava that was mined by the locals and sent out into the galaxy. Battle droids were produced on this planet making it an ideal location for the Separatist Council to retreat to when they were fighting the Galactic Republic under the influence of the evil Darth Sidious. However, Sidious, who was also Emperor Palpatine, sent the newly created Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, to Mustafar to kill the Separatists, ending the Clone Wars.

In "Revenge of the Sith", Obi-Wan Kenobi caught up to Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar and confronted him, as did Skywalker's wife, Padmé Amidala. However, this resulted in more rage for Vader, and he and Obi-Wan duelled. Vader lost the duel and Obi-Wan brokenheartedly left him on the banks of a lava river to die. However, after he left, Darth Sidious arrived to save Vader and placed him in the iconic black biosuit that we iconically recognize him in.
4. Saleucami is a planet in the Outer Rim that was involved in the Clone Wars. When Order 66 is given, Jedi Master Stass Allie is executed there. What was she on when she was killed?

Answer: 74-Z Speeder

Jedi Master Stass Allie is sent to Saleucami to repel the Separatist incursion there and to restore Republic order to the planet in the movie "Revenge of the Sith". This planet is very Earth-like with a temperate climate, located in the Outer Rim of planets.

At the height of the Republic victory, the Clone Troopers get the order to execute the Jedi. Two troopers target Stass Allie's speeder bike and blow it up, killing her.
5. Coruscant is probably the origin of the human race in the world of "Star Wars". As the capital of the Galactic Republic, what kind of planet is Coruscant?

Answer: One big city

Coruscant was the central hub for Galactic Republic life, being the capital of the Republic, later the Empire, and the home of the Senate. It was a planet that was one big mega-city; skyscrapers as tall as the sky blotting out the land all over the planet. The underworld was on the surface and there was no way that those residents could think about seeing the sky or the sun.

Though it's not explicitly mentioned in the "Star Wars" films, Coruscant was probably the homeworld of the humans in the "galaxy far, far away" and the city-planet housed trillions of residents, not all of them human. The planet features in all three of the films "The Phantom Menace", "Attack of the Clones", and "Revenge of the Sith", primarily as the base of operations for the Senate and the Supreme Chancellor (later the Emperor) Palpatine.
6. Geonosis is the site where Count Dooku leads the Separatists revolting against the Republic. There, Dooku manages to capture Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala and sentences the three to death. What method of execution does he have planned for them?

Answer: Killed by giant beasts

In "Attack of the Clones", Geonosis is the site where the Separatists manufacture battle droids and have their headquarters as they try to revolt against the Galactic Republic. However, Obi-Wan is sent there to apprehend their leader, Count Dooku, a Sith Lord and former Jedi. However, it is Dooku who gains the upper hand and captures Obi-Wan.

When Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala come to rescue Obi-Wan, they too get captured and thrown in jail. Dooku comes to plead with the three to join his cause, however, they refuse and get sentenced to death. In a colosseum-type arena, the three are chained to poles and giant wild beasts are released to kill them in full view of the screaming masses. However, they manage to escape.
7. Utapau is a rather inhospitable planet that Obi-Wan Kenobi visits in "Revenge of the Sith". He has an epic lightsaber battle there, eventually winning by using a blaster. Who does he defeat, despite his enemy using more lightsabers than he?

Answer: General Grievous

General Grievous retreats to Utapau in "Revenge of the Sith". Though the leaders of the Separatists were located on the planet, under orders from Darth Sidious they moved away to Mustafar. However, General Grievous, a droid with living organs, remained behind to oversee the battle against the forces of the Galactic Republic.

He is confronted by Obi-Wan Kenobi who battles him. Despite Grievous' ability to use four lightsabers, Obi-Wan manages to win. However, when Obi-Wan is caught by Grievous and dangled off the edge of a cliff, Obi-Wan is able to use the force to get a blaster and he shoots Grievous' exposed organs, killing the General.
8. Kamino was a planet with abundant oceans located in the Rishi Maze. Once Obi-Wan Kenobi was able to find this planet, what did he discover was being manufactured there?

Answer: Clones

When Obi-Wan is trying to find the mysterious would-be assassin of Padmé Amidala in "Attack of the Clones", he finds a dart that comes from the Kamino system. However, when he goes to the Jedi archives, he is surprised to find out that this planet does not exist. However, all of the nearby signatures point to the fact that there's something in the area with a lot of gravity that isn't showing up. Master Yoda tells him to go to the place and there he will find his missing planet.

When Obi-Wan Kenobi reaches Kamino, he is told by the locals that he has been expected and that his army is almost ready. When he inquires about this army, he is amazed to discover thousands of clones ready to be taken into battle. The Kaminoans are cloners, "and damn good ones". These clones that Obi-Wan will eventually bring to the Republic are what will eventually become the Empire's Storm Troopers.
9. Cato Neimoidia was a fog-covered planet with bridge cities. Jedi Master Plo Koon was stationed there when Order 66 was given. How was he taken out?

Answer: His starfighter was shot down

Cato Neimoidia was the central headquarters of the Trade Federation and a site of an important battle which the Galactic Republic won in "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith". A fog-covered planet due to its acid oceans, all of its cities had to be build on bridges. Plo Koon, a Jedi Master, was leading the clone attack on Cato Neimoidia and the result was a victory for the Republic.

However, at that moment of victory, as Plo Koon was flying over the cities in his starfighter, the Supreme Chancellor gave Order 66.

The clone troopers then turned on Plo Koon, shooting down his starfighter and murdering the Jedi.
10. Tatooine was the home planet of Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi manage to liberate Anakin from slavery by buying him from Watto. How did they raise sufficient funds to purchase Anakin's freedom?

Answer: Pod race

In "The Phantom Menace", Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, try to reach Coruscant, the capital. However, their hyperdrive has a problem and they need repairs, so they land on Tatooine to make repairs. There they meet a junk dealer, Watto, and his slave, Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon realizes that Anakin is force-sensitive and believes that this was no chance encounter, so he tries to buy Ani's freedom.

Knowing that Watto has a gambling problem, Qui-Gon wagers everything on Anakin to win the next pod-race, a dangerous and fast-paced race through the canyons of Tatooine. Anakin manages to hang on to win and the Jedi are able to buy his freedom and take him with them to Coruscant. Unfortunately, they don't have enough to pay for Shmee, Ani's mother, to be set free as well.
