Barbra did not have the car keys but she was able to put the car into neutral and used gravity to make her escape. For some unstated reason, she was unable to keep the car on the road and swiped a tree on the left. One could surmise that since the car was not running, the lack of power steering made it difficult to control.

The 1967 Pontiac LeMans actually belonged to producer Russ Streiner's mother and was involved in an accident prior to filming that scene. George Romero changed the script to include a colission to explain the dent.

Russ also played the part of Johnny.

Answer: Sunday

Johnny and Barbra were still in the car when Johnny said, "Do you think I want to blow Sunday on a scene like this?"

Answer: Beekman's Diner

When Ben told Barbra of his experience at Beekman's Diner, he mentioned that it was there that he found the truck.

Answer: December

The calendar was shown while Ben and Barbra rummaged through the kitchen for useful items.

The calendar showed the month of December, 1966. Earlier in the film, Johnny complained to Barbra that he had lost an hour sleep because of the time change. In the USA, clocks were set ahead one hour in the month of April.

Perhaps this was a mere continuity error.

Ben mentioned this while the group watched the TV news telecast.

Answer: Marilyn Eastman

Marilyn Eastman played the role of Helen Cooper and was highlighted in a close up shot of a living dead woman eating a large bug.

Urban myth states Marilyn was married to her "Night of the Living Dead" husband (Karl Hardman) in real life. She was his partner, in business only, for 40 years.

Answer: It was overturned by the living dead.

While Harry Cooper and Ben argued about the safest place in the house, Mr. Cooper mentioned that the car was overturned by "those things".

Answer: We don't know.

When Johnny appeared at the door, Barbra was pulled out of the house by the ghouls. Her presumed demise or possible escape was neither shown nor mentioned.

Answer: "That's another one for the fire".

The line compounded the tragedy of Ben's death and the lack of respect shown to all the victims by speaking of them as if they were just wood.

This was one of the last lines of the movie. Vince was played by the film's production director, Vincent Survinski.

The station had loaned equipment for the film's production. The station identification was seen on the news cameras.

WIIC - TV Channel 11 was (and still is) a real Pittsburgh, PA television station. The reporter, Bill Cardille, actually worked for the station as the horror movie host, Chilly Billy Cardille, and was a regular member of the station's news team.
