When Rose is considering throwing herself off the back of the ship and committing suicide, Jack tries to stop her from doing it. Then, to explain to her how cold the water is, he tells her about when he used to go ice-fishing with his dad in Wisconsin.

This quote is said by Captain E.J. Smith to Bruce Ismay, the managing director of the White Star Line, after he realises that the Titanic will sink in one or two hours. This is supposed to refer to Mr Bruce Ismay having said that, if they go faster, Titanic will arrive early in New York City, thus making the headlines of all the newspapers.

At the first-class dinner, Jack is introduced to Colonel J.J. Astor, the richest man on the ship, and his 18-year-old wife Madeline. Colonel Astor then proceeds to ask Jack if he is one of the Boston Dawsons, to which he replies that he actually is one of the Chippewa Falls Dawsons.

At the third-class party, we see Jack dancing with a little girl. This girl is seen correcting her father on the docks at the beginning of the film, saying that the Titanic is not a boat but a ship. We find out what her name is when Jack tells her: "You're still my best girl, Cora.".

This is said by Bruce Ismay to the diners at at the first class dinner. He is arguing the fact that though he came up with the idea of Titanic, she belongs to Andrews because he designed her.

Spicer Lovejoy is portrayed by David Warner. He is Cal's valet, bodyguard and onboard Titanic, his spy for Rose. He is suspicious of Jack's rescue of her.
