The Dreamworks film "Penguins of Madagascar" (2014), features the penguins from the original "Madagascar" film who investigate the kidnapping of penguins from zoos all over the world, by Dave the Octopus (John Malkovich). Dave is seeking revenge as he believes the penguins' cuteness caused him to be transferred from every zoo he has lived in. He creates a serum which will turn the penguins into monsters and so doing will cause the humans to despise them. The first encounter Dr. Brine when he is walking upside down on the ceiling and falls to the ground. Once untangled, he greets his captives:

Penguins: Ew! (In reaction to the fall and untangling of Dr Brine)

Dr. Octavius Brine: Now, that's just hurtful. [untangles himself] And I was so happy to see you again, Skipper, [Skipper gasps] Kowalski, Rico, and sweet little Private. [flicks Private's beak] Boop!

Skipper: Who are you?

Dr. Octavius Brine: The humans know me as Dr. Octavius Brine. Renowned geneticist, cheese enthusiast, and frequent donor to NPR pledge drives. But you know me by a different much older name. A name perhaps you hope you'd never hear again. A phantom! A shadow of a former life! I am...
