It was built in the 17th century as a country house for the prince Archbishop.
3. The wedding scene for "The Sound of Music" was filmed there.

25 kilometres east of the city. The basilica was built in 1487, and the baroque Altar by Hans Waldburger dates from 1626.
4. The family sings "Do-Re-Mi", "Edelweiss" and "So Long, Farewell" there at the contest, and escapes before receiving their first prize.

Answer: The Rock Riding School (Festival House)

For the construction of the cathedral, rocks were cut out of the Mönchsberg. In 1693, Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun decided to use this cavity in the mountain and had a riding school built in which tournaments were held. Today the Rock Riding School is a theatre and one of the venues situated in the Festival District. The "real" von Trapp family sang here at a choir competition.
5. Scenes shot here include the opening part where the nuns go to mass, the song "Maria", the children who come to ask if they could speak to Maria and the escape scene, where the cars are parked outside.
