Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I told Officer Jim Street that I would not accept a certain police officer on my S.W.A.T. team since he ate kosher hot dogs. Who played me?

Answer: Samuel L. Jackson

Jackson, born on December 21st, 1948 in Washington, D.C., was cast as Dan "Hondo" Harrelson. Dan Harrelson was a Sergeant for the Los Angeles Police Department and took some time off from his job. He returned and was first seen at the gun cage and said hello to another officer named Gus. Gus commented on how pleased he was to see Sgt. Harrelson back at his job and Harrelson stated, "You are either S.W.A.T. or you are not".

He was hired neared the beginning of the film to head the S.W.A.T. team. Sgt. Harrelson was informed he could hire three new members for the S.W.A.T. team.

In his early scenes, Sergeant Harrelson was seen observing potential candidates for the S.W.A.T. team and evaluating if they would do well on the team. Some officers he spoke to about the S.W.A.T. team were Chris Sanchez and Deacon "Deke" Kay. Midway through the film, Sgt. Harrelson gave his S.W.A.T. officers an exercise on rescuing hostages from an airplane hijacking.

He was pleased when the team did a good job and felt that their actions during that exercise prepared them well in case a similar situation happened in real life. Jackson starred in the movies "Together for Days", "Ragtime" and "Magic Sticks".
2. I was kicked off the S.W.A.T. team after a hostage was shot at a bank robbery. I got a second chance to be on the S.W.A.T. team thanks to Sgt. Harrelson. Who played me?

Answer: Colin Farrell

Farrell, a native of Castleknock, Dublin, Ireland, played Jim Street. Jim Street was a part of the S.W.A.T. team when the film began when the S.W.A.T. team responded to a bank robbery. Officer Street managed to get inside the bank and had a clear shot at the gunman who held a woman hostage.

However, Officer Street's friend, Officer Gamble, shot the hostage and then killed the gunman. Nevertheless, Officer Street was removed from the S.W.A.T. team due to disobeying an order but later rehired once Sgt. Harrelson took charge of it and was assured he could pick whichever three people he wanted. Officer Street befriended another officer on the S.W.A.T. team, Chris Sanchez, and they were seen in one scene going out for drinks.

When they went out for that evening, she asked him what the real experience was like with being on the S.W.A.T. team and Officer Street informed her it was a lot faster. Farrell had roles in the films "Daredevil", "Crazy Heart" and "In Bruges".
3. Officer Street killed me down by the train tracks. Who played me?

Answer: Jeremy Renner

Renner, born in 1971 in Modesto, California, portrayed Brian Gamble. Officer Gamble was a member of the S.W.A.T. team at the beginning of the film and was removed from the team due to shooting a hostage. In response to this, Officer Gamble got in Captain Fuller's face and was fired from his job as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Midway through the movie, Officer Gamble saw Chris Sanchez and Jim Street at a bar having drinks and went over to talk to Jim. Jim told him that Chris was on the S.W.A.T. team and that he got his position back with the team. Officer Gamble insulted Chris when he called her "J-Lo", a reference to Jennifer Lopez, and Jim did not appreciate this and the two argued.

In Jim and Brian's final scene, they fought down by a set of train tracks in Los Angeles and Jim killed Brian in self defense. Renner guest starred on the TV series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Angel" and "Deadly Games".

In 2010, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film "The Hurt Locker", but lost to Jeff Bridges for "Crazy Heart".

Other Oscar nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year were Colin Firth for "A Single Man", Morgan Freeman for "Invictus" and George Clooney for "Up in the Air".
4. Officer Street told me that his tactics at the bank robbery were saving a woman from getting shot. Who played me?

Answer: Reg E. Cathey

Cathey, born on August 18th, 1958 in Huntsville, Alabama, landed the role of Greg Velasquez. Greg Velasquez was a Lieutenant with the Los Angeles Police Department and the initial head of the S.W.A.T. team when the film began. After the bank robbery incident, Lt. Velasquez was seen in Captain Fuller's office while Fuller scolded both Officers Street and Gamble for disobeying a direct order. Lt. Velasquez mentioned to Officer Street that S.W.A.T. meant "Special Weapons and Tactics" and then asked Officer Street where his tactics were. Street responded on how his tactics were in preventing a woman from getting shot and Lt. Velasquez did not respond to his comment.

When Captain Fuller removed Street and Gamble from the S.W.A.T. team, Lt. Velasquez stepped in and encouraged him to give the two a chance to get back on the S.W.A.T. team since they were great officers. Captain Fuller told the two he would assign them to work in the gun cage for several months so he could figure out what to do.

This decision of Captain Fuller's pleased Lt. Velasquez. Cathey made guest starring appearances on the TV shows "30 Rock", "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Third Watch".

Answer: Larry Poindexter

Poindexter was cast in the role of Thomas Fuller. Mr. Fuller was a Captain with the Los Angeles Police Department and disapproved of how Officer Gamble and Officer Street handled the situation at the bank robbery. After he disciplined them by assigning them to the gun cage, Officer Gamble expressed resentment at this decision and this upset Captain Fuller.

He told Officer Gamble that he was lucky Lt. Velasquez stuck up for him. Officer Gamble then commented that he was lucky he did not have to work for someone like him. Officer Gamble got in Captain Fuller's face and Officer Street restrained him from doing any harm to Captain Fuller. Captain Fuller responded to this by firing Officer Gamble.

After Officer Street got Officer Gamble out of Captain Fuller's office, Captain Fuller asked to speak to Officer Street alone.

When they spoke, Captain Fuller informed Officer Street that they both knew Officer Gamble was a bad influence on the rest of the S.W.A.T. team. Street replied that Gamble was a good cop. Throughout the film, Captain Fuller and Sgt. Harrelson sparred on a couple of occasions. Poindexter guest starred on the TV shows "How I Met Your Mother" and "CSI: Miami". From June of 2005 to August of 2005, he played Dr. Asher Thomas on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital".

On a couple of occasions, Officer Boxer inquired to Jim about what happened between his sister and Jim since the two used to date. Jim refused to speak to him about their relationship and Officer Boxer mentioned that his sister was "little". Jim informed him that his sister was far from "little".

In a later scene, Officer Boxer was shot and paramedics were called to tend to him. He survived his gunshot wounds and continued to work as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Van Holt had roles in the films "Basic", "Black Hawk Down" and "Windtalkers".

Answer: Michelle Rodriguez

Rodriguez, a native of San Antonio, Texas, played Chris Sanchez. Chris Sanchez was an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and Sgt. Harrelson saw her file when researching candidates to fill three positions for the S.W.A.T. team. Chris mentioned to him that she was being treated for an injury to her arm since she dealt with a violent criminal who attacked her but she managed to subdue him. Sgt. Harrelson stated he liked what he saw in her file about her history with the Los Angeles Police Department so he asked her if he wanted to be on the S.W.A.T. team. Chris said she would and also brought up that she applied to be a member of the team multiple times in the past. Midway through the movie, Chris threw a birthday party for her daughter and received a page that she was needed at a crime scene. Chris told her daughter she had to go to work and she went to the crime scene as did the other members of the S.W.A.T. team.

After Officer Boxer had been shot, Chris was seen calling for paramedics to get to the scene. A little bit later in the film, Chris was also shot but she managed to survive her ordeal. Rodriguez got roles in the movies "Avatar", "The Fast and the Furious" and "Blue Crush".
8. I was caught on camera saying I would offer someone $100 million if they got me out of police custody. Who played me?

Answer: Olivier Martinez

Martinez, born in 1966 in Paris, France, landed the role of Alex Montel. Alex was a major drug dealer who had to be transported to prison due to his crimes. In one scene, he was in an area surrounded by television reporters and all of them raced over to him to get a statement. Alex said he would pay someone $100 million if they got him out of police custody. For the next several scenes, many people tried to outsmart the police and get Alex out of their custody but all of those attempts failed. In one instance, Alex was being very uncooperative with police orders so Sgt. Harrelson put a gun right to his head and told him he would shoot him if he moved even the slightest bit. Alex obeyed this order and therefore Sgt. Harrelson did not shoot him.

It was decided that Alex would be transported to the prison through underground facilities so nobody else aside from police authorities knew where he was. Martinez starred in the films "Unfaithful", "The Horseman on the Roof" and "Before Night Falls".
9. After I arrested a criminal who I chased through the streets of Los Angeles, I accepted Sgt. Harrelson's offer to be on his S.W.A.T. team. Who played me?

Answer: LL Cool J

LL Cool J, born on January 14th, 1968 in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York, was cast as Deacon "Deke" Kay. Officer Kay was first seen asking a Spanish speaking woman if she knew where her boyfriend was since he was wanted via a warrant. He then saw her boyfriend escape through the back of her house and began chasing him down the streets of Los Angeles.

When he ran down one of the streets, there was a police car there and the criminal jumped on the car and climbed over it. Officer Kay did the same thing in order to keep pursuing the criminal. Officer Kay even chased the criminal through a parade and it was shortly after this that Sgt. Harrelson punched the criminal.

The criminal fell to the ground and Officer Kay picked him up and arrested him.

It was at this time that Sgt. Harrelson offered Officer Kay a position on the S.W.A.T. team and he told him that he would like to join his team. A woman nearby saw all this and yelled at Officer Kay for arresting yet another Black person but Officer Kay told her that he committed a crime.

In one scene, Officer Kay mentioned that he would one day like to make a lot of money so he could hire Halle Barry to be his personal trainer. LL Cool J guest starred on the TV shows "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service", "House M.D." and "Oz".
10. I committed suicide in a private plane. Who played me?

Answer: Josh Charles

Charles, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, played T.J. McCabe. Mr. McCabe worked as a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department and was on Sgt. Harrelson's S.W.A.T. team. Near the end of the film, Officer McCabe and the other S.W.A.T. members transported Alex Montel to prison and Officer McCabe held his fellow teammates at gunpoint.

They asked him what the deal was and Officer McCabe said he was taking up Alex's offer to bust him out of police custody for $100 million. The other officers told Officer McCabe not to do it but he refused to listen to them. Former officer Brian Gamble also arrived at the scene and shot Officer Boxer. Officer McCabe blasted Gamble for doing this but nonetheless continued with his plan to help Alex in exchange for money.

In Officer McCabe's final scene, Sgt. Harrelson confronted him on the private plane which Alex planned to use to flee the country about what he had done. Officer McCabe had a gun in his hand and put a pistol in his mouth, which disappointed Sgt. Harrelson. Charles had guest starring stints on the TV series "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit", "Six Degrees" and "Stella".
