Frank Taylor, his children, Jerry and Monica, and their dog, Ruby, are visiting the museum when Mr Sarno returns from his trip to the South American temple. Frank is a fossil collector and hopes to sell some of his fossils to the museum.

It just so happens that Mr Sarno and the Taylors both own red coolers, and when the Taylors leave the museum, they send Ruby to fetch the cooler. However, being a dog, Ruby picks up the first cooler she sees... which happens to be the one containing the dinosaur eggs.

When the Taylors return home from the museum, they can't find their cooler. Unknown to them, in the basement, Ruby has opened Mr Sarno's cooler and now sits on a cushion beside the dinosaur eggs. They go out looking for the cooler, but don't find it.

Later that evening, knowing where the Taylors live, Mr Sarno arrives at the house with the missing cooler. Frank thanks him for finding it, but gets angry when Mr Sarno accuses the family of stealing HIS cooler. Meanwhile in the basement, the dinosaur eggs are hatching. Alerted by Ruby's barking, Jerry goes to the basement to feed her, thus finding the newly-hatched dinosaurs.

Paula is a Brachiosaurus, Jagger is a Stegosaurus, Elvis is a T-Rex, Hammer is a Chasmosaurus and Madonna is a Pteranodon.

Late one night, Frank wanders into the kitchen to find that it's a complete mess. Looking around, he spies a large bag of potato chips on the bench. The bag is moving. As he moves closer to investigate, Elvis suddenly tears a hole in the side of the bag and pops his head out. Stunned, Frank steps back... and stands on Paula's tail. Next thing he knows, Madonna is flapping around his head.

He falls over next to the upturned bin... and comes face to face with Jagger. To top it off, an orange then rolls past his head... closely followed by Hammer.

Answer: They're afraid he'll return them to Mr Sarno.

Despite their best efforts, Frank eventually finds out about the dinosaurs. He's mad that his kids have lied to him and considers giving the dinosaurs back to Mr Sarno.

When Vicki, a museum employee, becomes aware of the dinosaurs, she convinces Frank not to give them back, warning him that Mr Sarno will simply use them to make himself rich.

When Mr Sarno learns that the eggs have hatched, he starts threatening the Taylors. He wants the dinosaurs and will stop at nothing to get them. He's not even put off when Elvis bites him on the leg.

Eventually, he hires two men and they force their way into the Taylors' greenhouse, where the dinosaurs are kept, taking Elvis, Paula, Hammer and Jagger. Madonna escapes by flying through a hole in the greenhouse roof. They also take Vicki and Ruby.

It doesn't take long for Mr Sarno to announce that he's made the biggest scientific discovery of the millennium. This results in people from various television stations going to the museum to see what this "discovery" is.

It's through the appearance of newspaper article that the Taylors learn of Mr Sarno's plan to expose the dinosaurs to the world.

Unknown to Mr Sarno, the dinosaurs aren't in the cage where he expects them to be.

Since the cage is covered, no-one can see what's inside. Mr Sarno excited asks the police to remove the cover to reveal... the Taylors' dog! Everyone laughs as it's not the big scientific discovery they were expecting.

The kind museum janitor takes Jerry and Monica to a back room of the museum, where they're reunited with the now much-loved mini dinos.
