Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'May those who love us, love us. And those who don't love us, may God turn their hearts. And if He cannot turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles, so that we may know them by their limping.'

Answer: Keeping the Faith

This is said by Brian George, the Indian bartender, to Father Brian, played by Edward Norton. After Norton tells George everything that has happened with Anna (Jenna Elfman) and Rabbi Jake (Ben Stiller), this is the advice the bartender gives him.
2. 'Yes Uncle Remus, I know the catfish are huge!'

Answer: Big Daddy

Sonny (Adam Sandler) says this to Kevin (Jon Stewart) after he has called him to let him know that a kid that is supposedly Kevin's son has shown up at their apartment. Kevin's girlfriend walks by and Sonny does not want her to know that Kevin is on the phone, so he says this to make her think he is talking to his Uncle Remus.
3. 'We shared a moment. And in that moment one thing was made abundantly clear: this girl loves me, my friend. Loves me.'

Answer: Chasing Amy

Holden (Ben Affleck) says this to Banky (Jason Lee), after they have been invited to hang out with Alyssa Jones. This is before Holden finds out that Alyssa is gay. At this point the only interaction Holden and Alyssa have had, is the darts game they played at the bar.
4. 'This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time.'

Answer: Fight Club

Ed Norton's character says this in a voiceover when he is shown flying back and forth on business trips. In this voiceover he also explains what he does for a living, and it is also in this sequence that we first meet Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt. This line sums up the pointlessness of Norton's life at this point in the movie.
5. 'I was told that I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven, I told Bill that if Sandra is going to listen to her headphones while she's filing then I should be able to listen to the radio while I'm collating so I don't see why I should have to turn down the radio because I enjoy listening at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.'

Answer: Office Space

Milton tells Peter this after Peter has asked him to turn down the radio in his cubicle. Milton is a nerdy guy and can't seem to speak a sentence without sounding completely redundant. This line pretty much sums up his entire character and personality.
6. 'This is my right; it is the right of every human being. I choose not the suffocating anesthetic of the suburbs, but the violent jolt of the Capital, that is my choice. The meanest patient, yes, even the very lowest is allowed some say in the matter of her own prescription. Thereby she defines her humanity. I wish, for your sake, Leonard, I could be happy in this quietness. But if it is a choice between Richmond and death, I choose death.'

Answer: The Hours

Nicole Kidman is brilliant in her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in "The Hours". This scene takes place at the train station after Virginia has just tried to escape to London. Her husband, Leonard, stops her and this is her response to his attempt at confinement. This is arguably the scene that won Kidman the Oscar.
7. 'So what does it feel like to kill a man with your bare hands? It's a topic I'm very interested in.'

Answer: Pulp Fiction

This was said by the cab driver, Esmerelda, to Butch (Bruce Willis), after he killed his opponent in a boxing match.
8. 'All right, everyone, let's listen up now, listen up. Something important has just happened. I was in the toilet reading my contract, and it turns out, I get a bonus when we get to the World Series. So, let's play hard, let's play smart, use your heads!'

Answer: A League of Their Own

Tom Hanks says this to his team, the Rockford Peaches, before their last game of the season. If the team wins this game, they go to the World Series. At this point he has finally quit drinking and actually begun to believe that girls can play baseball.
9. 'You get behind me, we all profit; you challenge me, we all go down! There was one Napoleon, one Washington, one me!'

Answer: Dick Tracy

This was said by Big Boy Caprice, played fantastically by Al Pacino, to the rest of the mobsters in the city. He is trying to get them to form an alliance under his direction, so that they can run their casinos and make their millions. Although Big Boy is convincing, one mobster decides not to join, and it does not end well for him.

This movie is so well done, and not only are the actors and the story amazing, the set and art direction is unbelievable.
10. 'The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.'

Answer: The Usual Suspects

This is said by Verbal Kint, played brilliantly by Kevin Spacey, to Agent Kujan when he is telling the Agent about Keyser Soze. This is all I'm going to say in case some quiz takers have not seen the movie, because it would be awful if I ruined the ending.
11. 'Twenty-eight days... six hours... forty-two minutes... twelve seconds. That... is when the world... will end.'

Answer: Donnie Darko

In this dark, crazy movie, Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Donnie Darko, sees a man in a bunny suit who predicts armageddon. The first time the bunny talks, this is what he says. Darko spends the rest of the movie doing everything the bunny tells him to do. After seeing this movie numerous times, I still can't figure out what is actually happening.
12. 'What part of Georgia are you from? South Central?'

Answer: Robin Hood: Men in Tights

This line is said by Achoo to Will Scarlett O'Hara after Will has shown the men his special talent with knives. Will has previously explained that he is from Georgia, and because he is so quick with his daggers, Achoo can't believe it. This Mel Brooks film is an absolute classic, along with the other three Brooks films listed as choices.
13. 'I've looked at so many women. I've seen everything, and felt nothing. But when I look at you, it hurts.'

Answer: The Cider House Rules

This line, said by Tobey Maguire to Charlize Theron, is so beautifully written I had to include it in the quiz. He tells her this after he has left the orphanage he grew up in, to see the world and experience life. He falls in love with Theron after they think her husband has died.
14. 'I don't know why you let me go to University. It's like taking me to the top of the mountain and showing me the world, and then marching me back down, and saying, "That's what you can't have Benny, you silly great fat article. Here's what you can have: Knockglen for the rest of your life and married to Sean bloody Walsh!" I'd rather be married to a bloody lizard!'

Answer: Circle of Friends

This line was said by Benny (Minnie Driver) to her parents, after they told her she could not move to Dublin to attend college. They allowed her to go to college, but she had to live at home. Sean Walsh is the scummy guy who works for Benny's father, played brilliantly by Alan Cumming. Personally, I think this movie is completely underrated.
15. '"That groupie"? She was a Band-Aid! All she did was love your band. And you used her, all of you! You used her and threw her away! She almost died last night while you were with Bob Dylan. You guys, you're always talking about the fans, the fans, the fans; she was your biggest fan, and you threw her away! And if you can't see that, that's your biggest problem. And I love her! I love her!'

Answer: Almost Famous

William Miller shouts this at the lead singer of Stillwater, after Penny Lane has attempted suicide, and no one in the band seems to care. Penny, played by Kate Hudson, also happened to be the "girlfriend" of the lead singer, despite his serious relationship with a woman at home. William is so angry because he is really in love with her.
