Tim Sims is the original fake name that Muriel uses when first telling Rhonda she is engaged. Later during a lunch break in a cafe, Muriel tells Rhonda that she is breaking up with Tim, a policeman, who said if she ever left him he would shoot whoever she was living with, her and then himself. Muriel uses various other names for fiancee's when trying on dresses at bridal shops, but when Rhonda barges in on her she thinks she is marrying Tim Sims.
