Answer: Hip Hop

Hip hop music burst onto the scene in the 1970s and often involves sampling music from a different genre and rapping over the top of the beat. Although it originated in the American inner cities, its influence has spread over the world and hip hop artists can now be found in places such as Israel, Tanzania and Russia illustrating the global popularity of this genre.
2. Blue Oyster Cult, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin

Answer: Rock

Rock music is an amalgamation of 50s rock and roll music with blues and rhythm and blues. Many artists of the classic rock period of the 1970s have recorded cover versions of the songs that influenced them, for example Led Zeppelin covered Willie Dixon's "You Shook Me" and "I Can't Quit You Baby", while in 2016, the Rolling Stones released "Blue And Lonesome", an entire album of cover songs.

Country has its roots in folk music and the blues and first became popular in North America following WWI. It is still incredibly popular in North America, with a limited following in UK.

Blues music developed from spiritual songs in the late 19th century and traditionally a simple rhymed narrative with lines often repeated. Early blues songs were often about challenges faced by African Americans, such as racial discrimination.

As it name suggests, gospel music is usually a Christian based genre, often with many harmonies and sung a capella. It can be traced back to the 17th century and will often feature a "call and response" style of singing.
