Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which great rock cd is 'Machinehead' from?

Answer: Bush, 'Sixteen Stone'

'Sixteen Stone' is a great cd by Bush, and I just never connected with any of their other stuff.
2. Here's a real easy one, who sang, '25 or 6 to 4?'

Answer: Chicago

Not much to say, Chicago's old stuff is musically outstanding in my opinion. Quality old rock.
3. For all the punk know-it-alls, What album and band are these words from: 'Maybe I'll impress her, by being in a band. And maybe if I act real tough, she'll let me hold her hand. And maybe I'll win her heart, by writing this song about her. Sometimes I sit at home and wonder if she's sitting at home thinking of me and wondering if I'm sitting at home thinking about her or am I just wasting my time?'

Answer: Blink 182, 'Cheshire Cat'

'Cheshire Cat' was Blink 182's first major release and one of my favorite. Dude Ranch was great because it was still kind of raw and had emotion. I don't know, the last two seemed a little less emotion-filled and more 'clean' sounding.
4. What band's lead singer co-started 'A Perfect Circle'?

Answer: Tool

I personally feel that Tool is just as musical, if not more so, than most other bands out there. Just because it's hard rock, people may not agree with me.
5. Who recorded the CD 'Around the Fur'?

Answer: Deftones

I listen to Deftones before competing in college to get me pumped up.
6. What 'garage-band' recorded the song 'Valentine'?

Answer: The Get Up Kids

The Get Up Kids are a great garage band, and are probably not as appreciated as they should be.
7. Fill in the Dave lyrics: 'Come and see, I swear by now I'm playing time against my ________, I'm coming slow but speeding'

Answer: troubles

One of my favorite Dave songs of all time. I think the groove at the end is the best.
8. What's this from: 'Summer time and the wind is blowing, Outside in lower Chelsea, And I don't know what I'm doing in this city, The sun is always in my eyes, It crashes through the windows, And I'm sleeping on the couch, When I came to visit you, That's when I knew?'

Answer: Third Eye Blind (Self Titled)

The first cd of Third Eye Blind made some waves with 'Jumper' and 'Semi-Charmed Life,' though the best song on there (in my opinion) was 'Motorcycle Drive By.'
9. What debut cd had 'Fire Maple Song' on it?

Answer: Everclear, 'World of Noise'

Everclear's first CD, 'World of Noise,' had the emotional 'Fire Maple Song' on it which is still one of their best songs in my opinion.
10. This is the only cd released by this artist, as he has stopped singing and songwriting. This cd had such songs as 'I hope I didn't just give away the ending' and 'Mother we just can't get enough' on it?

Answer: New Radicals, 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too'

The New Radicals cd 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too' is a great cd. It sounds like pop at first, but all the songs on it are stories and are great song and story combinations.
11. What movie was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' song 'Walls (Circus)' on?

Answer: 'She's The One'

12. So I had to put one song in there from the 'glory days' of country. Who sang these words: 'Six o'clock on Friday evening, Momma doesn't know she's leaving, till she hears the screen door slamming?'

Answer: Garth Brooks

I wasn't a huge country fan when I was little, but I did like listening to Garth Brooks, I still think he's great country, though I'm not a country fan.
13. Which of these bands was NOT on the original ESPN X-Games cd?

Answer: Rage Against The Machine

The original ESPN X-Games cd was a great compilation and had a lot of great music, again, in my opinion.
14. Which artist had the great cd 'Madman Across the Water'?

Answer: Elton John

Elton John's old stuff was great. His music has gone through a ton of changes, but you can't go wrong with his early cds (my opinion).
15. Last one and real easy. It's a Dave Matthews one again 'cause I'm a big fan. Who did the background vocals on 'Spoon' on the cd 'Before These Crowded Streets?'

Answer: Alanis Morisette
