Answer: Justin Hawkins

Justin of course fronted The Darkness and their debut album (which got to number one) was called "Permission To Land" in 2003. Sadly the band have now all gone their separate ways.

Answer: Angus Young

AC/DC guitarist Angus Young and his brother Malcolm were born in Glasgow, Scotland before moving to Australia. And out of interest, Angus was on the cover of the very first issue of Kerrang magazine, way back in June 1981!

Gary Moore born in Ireland, first joined Thin Lizzy in 1974, and again on a more permanent basis in 1978 before concentrating more on a solo career. "Corridors of Power" was one of his solo albums and featured Ian Paice (of Deep Purple) on drums.

Quo are still out there performing all over the world, regularly doing over a hundred gigs each year. In the current band Francis Rossi is the only member from 1962, Rick Parfitt joined in 1967, Andrew Bown in 1977, John Edwards in 1986 and Matt Letley in 2000.

Phil Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy never had a number one hit single or album in the UK charts. The nearest was the "Live and Dangerous" and "Black Rose" albums which both got to number two.

Noddy fronted the band Slade which started out as the 'N' Betweens then Ambrose Slade before becoming just Slade. In the late 1970s their days looked numbered. But in the early 1980s following an appearance at the Reading Rock Festival they came back as a hard rock act, the band finally called it a day in the early 90s.

Answer: Ozzy Osbourne

John "Ozzy" Osbourne was born in Aston, Birmingham UK and was of course with Black Sabbath before going solo. Even though he had a number one album in the UK charts ("Paranoid") in 1970, he had to wait until December 2003 to have a number one single in the UK, which was "Changes" a duet with his daughter Kelly.

Answer: Edward Van Halen

Formed in 1974 under a variety of names including Mammoth. Van Halen have had world wide success, but in the UK have only had two top ten singles - "Jump" in February 1984 reached number seven and "Why Can't This be Love" in April 1986 reaching number eight.

Answer: Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury and Queen have had six number one UK Singles and nine number one UK albums. In 2005 Queen reformed with Paul Rodgers of Free and Bad Company, performing a mixture of Queen, Free and Bad Company hits.

Answer: David Coverdale

David is best known for fronting Whitesnake but he has also released some solo albums including "Northwinds" and "Restless Heart". But his highest charting solo album in the UK was "Coverdale Page", with Jimmy Page. Reaching number four in the album chart.
