This was a concept album arranged by Nelson Riddle and released in 1955. The songs are strung together and tell a bleak story. It is rumored that his relationship with Ava Gardner played a role in the mood of this album.
Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and he first worked with a local singing group, The Three Flashes.
His recordings, as well as solo, include work with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jo Stafford and the Pied Pipers, and The Rat Pack.
