"Trouble Man" was from the soundtrack of the Blaxploitation film of the same name. It was released on 12-8-72.
2. "Freddie's Dead"
Answer: Curtis Mayfield
"Freddie's Dead" is perhaps the most well known track from the extremely influential soundtrack for the film "Superfly". This single was actually released before both the soundtrack LP and the film itself. The song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. It was nominated for a Grammy but lost to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"!
3. "Tired Of Being Alone"

This 1971 single reached number eleven on Billboard's Hot 100. Ultimately Billboard ranked it at number twelve for 1971. It was the first of seven consecutive gold singles for Al in the early '70s

From James' seventh studio album released in September of 1963. Originally a song written in 1931, this song became a million seller when it was recorded by Billy Eckstine and Duke Ellington in September of 1945. James Brown's version charted at number six in 1963 on the R&B charts and number 18 on the pop charts and was performed by him live in the legendary 1964 "TAMI Show" concert film with his Famous Flames backing band.
5. "Dry Your Eyes"

They were an R&B group formed in 1966 in Philadelphia. "Dry Your Eyes", their first release, went to number two on the Billboard R&B chart.
6. "Oh How It Hurts"

A 1967 release on the Arctic label that went to number eleven on the Billboard R&B charts.
7. "Hey There Lonely Girl"

Love it or hate it, but is there anybody who was alive and living in the USA in 1969/1970 that does not instantly remember this song? Released on the ABC label it went to number two on Billboard's Hot 100 Pop chart in 1970.

Barbara co-wrote this song in 1962 and it peaked at number one on the R&B charts. One thing that sets her apart from her other female soul and R&B peers is that she is also well known as a female blues electric guitarist.

This was a cover version of a Chantels' song. The Three Degrees' version of "Maybe" (which has also been covered by Janis Joplin) was released in 1970 and it went to number four on the R&B charts.
