"Patience" comes from the 1988 album "G N'R Lies". The most popular opinion on the origins of the song is that it is about the tense relationship between Axl Rose and his then-wife Erin Everly. It has been said by the band, though, that it is about Izzy Stradlin's ex-girlfriend Angela Nicoletti McCoy. Since the music and lyrics were primarily written by Izzy, the second explanation seems plausible.

The music video for "Patience" is the last GNR video that Steven Adler appeared in. In 1990, Matt Sorum took over the drummer position in the band.

"Before He Cheats" is the third single from "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood's first album "Some Hearts"(2005). It is, as you can see, a song about a VERY vengeful woman getting her revenge on a cheating boyfriend. Though the song was immensely popular (e.g. named 2007 Single of the Year by the Country Music Association), it has also been criticized for promoting violence and property destruction as a legitimate means of getting back at a boyfriend.

The song "Tush" comes from the 1975 ZZ Top album "Fandango!" It was the only single from that album, and it reached only number twenty on the chart. While it has never been explicitly denied that the song is essentially a booty call about going to look for some action, band member Billy Gibbons has also said that the term 'tush' is just Texas slang for "good enough". Things can be described as either 'tush', 'plush'(pretty good), or 'primo'(excellent).

"Wonderwall" was a 1995 single for Oasis, off of the album "What's the Story, Morning Glory?" It was the band's breakthrough success in the US and remains their only US top-ten hit. It was said that it was written about Meg Mathews, Noel Gallagher's wife, but he denied that after they divorced. Liam Gallagher was quoted in 2008, saying about "Wonderwall": "I can't [flippin'] stand that [darn] song! Every time I have to sing it I want to gag."

The young, up-and-coming Taylor Swift has two albums, 2006's "Taylor Swift" and 2008's "Fearless". The song "I'd Lie" is not on either of them. It was never actually sold as a single either, but has been getting radio play and Internet play (e.g. youtube, and Swift's website) since 2007.

"Beat It" was the third single released from 1983's "Thriller", after "The Girl Is Mine" and "Billie Jean". It remains one of Jackson's most well-known songs. In 2008, many artists covered Michael Jackson tunes for the 25th Anniversary commemorative album "Thriller 25". Fergie recorded "Beat It", and so did Fall Out Boy, featuring John Mayer on the guitar solo originally played by Eddie Van Halen.

The song comes from the 1977 Heart album "Little Queen". Ann Wilson has said that she wrote the song's lyrics when she was really angry at a man who implied that she and her sister Nancy were involved in an incestuous, lesbian affair. In addition to being popular on classic rock radio stations and being featured in "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock", "Barracuda" was also used by 2008 Republican campaign in reference to Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, nicknamed Sarah Barracuda.

The Wilsons didn't like Palin, and demanded that the party stop using their song.

"Slide" was the first single released officially from 1998's "Dizzy Up the Girl", though the song "Iris" was first played on the radio. Band front man and writer Johnny Rzeznik has said that the song is about a pregnant teenager who is trying to decide with her boyfriend on whether to get married or get an abortion.

Answer: let it be

"Let it Be" was the first single released from the 1970 album of the same name. Though credited to Lennon/McCartney, it was primarily written by Paul McCartney. It was about a dream he had about his mother, who had died when he was a teenager, coming to comfort him during a period of uncertainty. Paul, Ringo, and George performed the song together in 1998 at Linda McCartney's memorial service.

The song comes from the 1990 album "The Razor's Edge". A myth surrounding this song is that Angus Young plays the main-riff one-handed, tapping each note on the fret board instead of plucking the strings, but he does in fact pick each note, as can be seen in videos of live performances.

The song is widely used in movies, especially sports movies ("Varsity Blues", "The Longest Yard"), and is also used by many sports teams and athletes as theme songs; for example, it is the theme song for the NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
