Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What city is the band from?

Answer: Louisville

This Kentucky based band is in fact from Louisville. Until the late 90's there weren't a lot of rock bands coming from this area, but Flaw has joined Days of the New, Primer 55 and Tantric in showing the world that middle America can rock out!
2. What was the Flaw's first single?

Answer: Payback

"Payback" was Flaw's first single, released in September of 2001, with the cd hitting stores, a month later, in October.
3. "Hope you're alright, it's been rough for me" is a line from which song?

Answer: My Letter

This line is from "My Letter". It is actually part of the chorus. Like all of the songs on "Through the Eyes", it deals with a very personal experience in Chris' life. In my opinion it is a letter to his deceased mother.
4. The song "Whole" is about suicide. Who is it about?

Answer: the singer's mom

Chris actually wrote this song while dealing with his mom's suicide. He later said, "It felt like I was cheating my mom... because I was sharing such an intensely personal experience with the world."
5. Which song is this line from? "Seems easy but nothing could be so hard."

Answer: Only The Strong

The lyric is from "Only the Strong", the first song on the album. The verse goes on to say "....trying to guess life's dealing, what's the next card.."
6. The following lyric is taken from which song? "Then I noticed adifference, in the way I saw other insects."

Answer: Get Up Again

"Get Up Again" is the song. This is my best friend's favorite line from this song. The "insects" Chris is referring to are those kids who are "..living a life of indulgence, sheltered by their parents.."
7. Complete the following lyric from Payback: "Striving hard for perfection, but still nothing to _______."

Answer: find

As I mentioned, this song was their first video and first single from the "Through the Eyes" CD. By May 2002, the cd, released in October of 2000, had spent 9 weeks on the Billboard charts.
8. As of May 2002, Chris Volz left the band. True or False?

Answer: False

This is False. Guitarist, Jason Daunt, left the band. On May 6, 2002, Flaw's website posted that Daunt had parted with the band, due to creative and personal differences.
9. "Then you came right in, tearing out my soul. How could all this loss be your only goal" is a line from which song?

Answer: Whole

This is actually a line from Flaw's second single, "Whole". On May 20. 2002, this video premiered on MTV 2 and soon went into pretty heavy rotation, also appearing on MTV.
10. True or False. Flaw has played gigs at Ozzfest.

Answer: True

True. In May of 2002, it was officially announced that Flaw would be playing the first half of the Ozzfest 2002 show.
11. There is a hidden track on this cd, it is an acoustic version of which song?

Answer: Only The Strong

Yes, if you let this cd play all the way through, you will hear a very slow, very acoustic version of "Only The Strong"... it almost sounds like a completely different song.
12. This lyric is from what song? "Those liars told us things would all be fine."

Answer: Out of Whack

"Out of Whack" is the name of this song. Like most songs on their debut cd, this song deals with childhood experiences. He goes on the say "...born out of whack...where innocent young kids are put behind bars...".
13. Finish this lyric from "My Letter": "But now you question who I am, who I am inside. Now there's nothing left to ____, so here it goes, this is my letter."

Answer: hide

This is from "My Letter" -- a truly sad song. This tragic song probably hits home for more listeners then even Chris, himself, realizes.
14. Finish this lyric from the song Whole: "Then I became the person that you hated most, disrespecting the______,____ and Holy Ghost."

Answer: Father Son

This is a haunting line in this tragic song. An interesting fact about this band, is that their first indy cd, recorded in 1997, only cost them shipping and handling. They found a place where they could order the equipment they needed, and was told they could send it back in 30 days if not satisfied.

They used the equipment, recorded as quickly as the could and sent the equipment back. Pretty smart huh?
15. "As you were, you little puppet, you pauper, you freak, that's right" is a lyric from which song?

Answer: Inner Strength

"Inner Strength" is the correct song title. The song goes on to say "....that's what some of them have said to me."
