Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Deaf villain day skies.

Answer: Devil in Disguise

"(You're the) Devil in Disguise" was a 1963 release by Elvis that was written by Giant, Baum and Kaye. It reached number one in the UK, but only topped out at number three in the US.
2. Laugh meat and her.

Answer: Love Me Tender

The melody for "Love Me Tender" was based on the 1861 song "Aura Lee", which was originally written by George R. Poulton with words by W.W. Fosdick. Elvis performed it on the "Ed Sullivan Show" on the 9th of September, 1956, a month before it was released as a single (and before the movie came out).
3. Jay louse rook.

Answer: Jailhouse Rock

"Jailhouse Rock" was released in September of 1957, coinciding with the release of the movie by the same name. The song was written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller.
4. Hard bray coat tell.

Answer: Heartbreak Hotel

Written by Tommy Durden and Mae Boren Axton, "Heartbreak Hotel" was released as a single on the 27th of January, 1956. The album of the same name was Elvis' first number one album and also became his first million-selling album.
5. Ray torn toes under.

Answer: Return to Sender

"Return to Sender" was a 1962 release hit for Elvis, written by Otis Blackwell and Winfield Scott. He also performed the song in the 1962 film "Girls! Girls! Girls!" In 1993, the US Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp featuring Elvis, partly in honor of this song, but mostly (of course) in honor of Elvis' impact on the world of rock and roll.
6. Sass pitch us mines.

Answer: Suspicious Minds

"Suspicious Minds" was written by Mark James. James recorded it himself first in 1968, but it didn't make it big until it was recorded by Elvis the following year. Unfortunately, "Suspicious Minds" would end up being the last number one release for Elvis before his death.
7. Awl shoe cup.

Answer: All Shook Up

Along with Otis Blackwell, Elvis also received credit for writing "All Shook Up" (1957). It would be his last such co-writing credit. "All Shook Up" stayed at number one on the US Pop Chart for eight weeks.
8. Blew swayed chews.

Answer: Blue Suede Shoes

"Blue Suede Shoes" was a song originally written and recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955, and then famously covered by Elvis in 1956. Even after Elvis released it as a single, his cover version only reached number 20 on the charts, while the Perkins version had hit number one.
9. Tad he bare.

Answer: Teddy Bear

"Teddy Bear", also known as "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear" was written by Kal Mann and Bernie Lowe and recorded by Elvis in 1957. It stayed at number one on the charts for seven weeks.
10. Air yule own sum toon height.

Answer: Are You Lonesome Tonight

"Are You Lonesome To-night?" was a song originally written in 1926 by Lou Handman and Roy Turk that was revived by Elvis in 1960. Another version by Blue Barron had managed to hit number 19 on the charts in 1950, but Elvis' version made it to number one, staying there for six weeks.
