With the virtuoso guitar player, Eddie Van Halen and one of the best frontmen of rock n' roll, David Lee Roth, the Diamond Dave, Van Halen created a huge base of fans in Los Angeles area even without an album released thanks to the guitar solo "Eruption" played by Eddie! Their first recording sold more than 10 million copies and it's still one of the top ten selling records of the 70's! Def Leppard are from the UK (LA is located in US...) and Mötley and Ratt became famous after Van Halen.

The album "Metal Health" stormed up the US charts in 1983 and made Quiet Riot achieve the sudden stardom with the hits "Metal Health" and "Cum On Feel The Noize". The success wouldn't last for a long time...but they were the first metal band to reach the top!

In 1983 Kiss decided to leave the 70's make up and outfits aside and addopted the bandanas, hair spray and leather clothes from the hair bands that were earning space by the time. Their first debut with the new looks, "Lick It Up", featured Vinnie Vincent, a new guitar player. Until 1996, Kiss stayed without make up, and this period was called the Unmasked Era.

A great ballad played by Mötley Crüe that appears on "Theatre Of Pain", their 1985 release. This song was an effort to make the Mötley sound more accessible.
Due to the romantic themes and the high visual appealing, the mid 80's hair metal bands were topping easily the charts. The mid 80's saw the rise of the hard rock ballads from bands such as Poison, Cinderella, Britny Fox and, of course, Bon Jovi.
None of these songs belongs to 'satanic' bands. "Love Walks In" is a 1986 ballad from Van Halen; "I'd Die For You" appears on Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet"; and "Heaven Tonight" is a 1988 Yngwie Malmsteen's ballad.

Sammy Hagar was the guy that entered in Van Halen after David; Jeff Scott Soto was playing with Yngwie Malmsteen by the time; and David Coverdale didn't got out of his band, Whitesnake, during the 80's.

"Action" was actually the second single and "Power Of Suggestion" appears on the "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" soundtrack. But both were in the 1989 realese too. "Rebel Yell" is the 1983 hit that Stevens co-written when he was still playing with Billy Idol.
