1. Who were the only female group to tour with The Beatles?

Answer: The Ronettes

The Ronettes, who are best remembered for their Phil Spector productions, were sisters Veronica (Ronnie) and Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. They had million sellers with 'Be My Baby' and 'Baby I Love You'. They split up in 1973.
2. These songs were all number ones in the UK, but in which year? 'On Pretty Woman'-Roy Orbison, 'A Hard Days Night'-The Beatles, and 'Baby Love'-The Supremes.

Answer: 1964

This was the last number one for Roy Orbison, and the only number one for The Supremes in the UK. The Beatles fared slightly better, they were to have another twelve number ones.

Answer: Andy Fairweather Low

From Cardiff, Amen Corner had four top ten hits in the 60's. They disbanded soon after their record label, Immediate, collapsed in 1969.

The song was released on the record label he co-founded - A & M Records. He sold his share in the company in 1989 for $500 million.

It was eleven - seven to Elvis. Between them they've, to date, spent well over 2,200 weeks in the UK charts. To put that in context, it's more than The Beatles, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and David Bowie have combined!Despite recent re-releases, Elvis managed a total of 18 number ones with different songs.
8. The Monkees only had one number one in the UK, in July 1967. What was the song?

Answer: 'I'm A Believer'

The Monkees were formed in 1966 for a new TV comedy series. Davy Jones (David Bowie's original name), Peter Tork, Mickey Dolenz and Michael Nesmith hit almost Beatle-like hysteria. Originally they were told what to sing, and were not allowed to play their respective instruments on recording sessions.
9. 'Its All Over Now' was a first number one for which group?

Answer: The Rolling Stones

The south of Britain's answer to the Beatles, the Rolling Stones have just finished another mammoth tour. I was lucky enough to see one of their concerts at Twickenham.

Answer: Ken Dodd

Ken Dodd, primarily known in England as a 'comedian', amassed an amazing 233 weeks in the charts in the 60s. His only number one being 'Tears'.
