From the Rat Pack to cabaret to Imagine Dragons, the musical variety coming from Las Vegas is seemingly endless. Despite the city's slogan of "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas", Imagine Dragons managed to break out of the city's mold in 2012 with their EP "Continued Silence," leading with such hits as "It's Time" and "Radioactive."

Lead singer Dan Reynolds said of the city: "Unlike in New York or LA where your biggest concern is being the hottest rock act around, in Las Vegas you've got to compete with showgirls and roulette and Cher at the Caesars Palace. You learn to stand out because you're competing for the attention of people sitting at slot machines."

The name 'Egyptian' was never used for an Imagine Dragons release, but is rather the name of a band that lead singer Dan Reynolds created with his wife, Aja Volkman-Reynolds. Their song, "Fade," was used on the soundtrack for the 2011 movie "Answers to Nothing," alongside Imagine Dragon's "Hear Me."

4. The band's first major commercial success came after the release of their fourth EP, "Continued Silence," which peaked at number forty on the Billboard 200. What song off this release became the band's first single and most successful song of 2012?

"It's Time" first cracked the Billboard Hot 100 in June 2012, and remained on the chart the rest of the year before peaking at number fifteen in January 2013. During that time, "Radioactive" and "Demons" both entered the chart as well, while "On Top of the World" and another song from the EP - "Round and Round" - made their way into the Billboard Rock Songs chart.

5. Thanks to the fantastic success of the Continued Silence EP, Imagine Dragons' debut album "Night Visions" had a very strong opening week. Where did it debut on the Billboard 200?

Even though "Night Visions" was undoubtedly a well-anticipated release, it never had a chance at reaching the number one spot, as Matchbox Twenty released their first album in over a decade on the same day. Their album, "North," sold 95,000 albums while "Night Visions" finished with 83,000 sold. Because of "Night Vision's" release, "Continued Silence" was completely replaced and therefore fell from number fifty-seven on the Billboard 200 to unranked.

6. Although most of the band's successful tracks originated on either "Continued Silence" or "Night Visions", this is not true for every song. What songs were released on an EP before "Continued Silence" and still made the regular version of "Night Visions"?

"Hear Me" was first released on the "Hell and Silence" EP in 2010, and was featured on PBS' "Vegas in Tune," as well as "The Real World: Las Vegas." Both "It's Time" and "Amsterdam" were released on the 2011 EP "It's Time," although only the former made the cut for Continued Silence.

The song "Selene" was also found on "Hell and Silence", but is only available on the exclusive Best Buy edition, not the regular album.

Alex da Kid made his name in 2010 working with artists like Nicki Minaj, B.o.B., Eminem, Rihanna, and Dr. Dre, and for the most part stayed in the range of hip hop and R&B until he began collaborating with Imagine Dragons. He co-produced the tracks "Radioactive," "Demons," "On Top of the World," "Bleeding Out," and "Cha-Ching (Till We Grow Older)," and co-wrote all of these except "Cha-Ching." On Continued Silence, he also helped write and produce the songs "Round and Round" and "My Fault" as well.

9. Despite being only their first full-length album, "Night Visions" does contain some subtle trickery. What track is hidden after the "final" song "Nothing Left to Say"?

Answer: Rocks

"Nothing Left to Say" includes the line "There's nothing left to say now, I'm giving up," which is certainly not true for the song itself. Sitting at just over six and a half minutes long, it proves the band still has something left to say by adding another two minutes for "Rocks," which starts off with the line "Where do we go from here?" That question was answered quickly, as they sped off to go on tour across North America and the United Kingdom.

10. The music industry took notice of Imagine Dragons very early on as well, and when the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards were announced, the band was among the nominees for one category. Which category was it?

Answer: Best Rock Video

Imagine Dragons was unfortunately shut out of Best New Artist, with One Direction, Fun., Carly Rae Jepsen, Frank Ocean, and The Wanted taking the nomination spots. However, the music video for "It's Time" was nominated for Best Rock Video, ultimately losing to Coldplay's "Paradise." Don't think for a second that the band was disappointed, though, as they announced after they were nominated, "We are certainly not going to win Best Rock Video.
