Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I wait here in this hole, playing poker with my soul. I hold the rifle close to me, it lights the way to keep me free." Who sang these lyrics?

Answer: Big Country

"Where The Rose Is Sown" was featured on Big Country's third album
"Steeltown" 1984. Forming in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1981, Big
Country's unique blend of guitar effects and riffs resembling bag
pipes made them a popular opening act for bands like The Who and
The Rolling Stones. Sadly singer Stuart Adamson was found dead in
a Honolulu hotel room in 2001. Autopsy revealed he hanged himself.
2. "Love is a stranger in an open car, to tempt you in and drive you far away. And I want you, and I want you, and I want you, so it's an obsession." Who sang these lyrics?

Answer: Eurythmics

"Love Is A Stranger" from the Eurythmics' second album "Sweet Dreams
(Are Made Of This)" released in 1983. Forming in 1980, the British
duo of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewert made a visual and innovative mark on early '80s music.

In The New World", 1983. Forming in Los Angeles in 1977, this punk band
gained a large following in the L.A. punk scene. Songwriter Otis Blakwell's "Breathless" was also made famous by rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis in 1958.

"Under The Milky Way". This track was featured on The Church's tenth
and breakthrough album "Starfish" 1988. Forming in Sydney in 1980,

"Bela Lugosi's Dead". Originally released as a single in 1979, Bauhaus

Serpent's Egg", 1988. Forming in Melbourne in 1981, they soon moved to
London and landed a contract with 4AD Records. One cannot put a label

time. Breaking up in 1998, they later re-grouped and toured in 2005.
7. "I started drifting to a different place. I realized I was falling off the face of your world, and there's nothing left to bring me back." Who sang these lyrics?

Answer: The Smiths

"Back To The Old House" was featured on The Smiths album "Hatful Of
Hollow" 1983. Recorded live for a John Peel session, another version
can also be found on "Louder Than Bombs" 1987. From 1982 to 1987 the
