This is mentioned in the very first line of the song
5. What kind of car was Jan driving when he crashed on Whittier Blvd. on April 12, 1966?

8. Jan to Dean from the "Deadman's Curve" movie: "If it weren't for me, you'd still be ______ _______"?

9. In the rock concert movie "The T.A.M.I. Show", what was in Jan & Dean's guitar case?

Arwin Records (owned by actress Doris Day's husband Marty Melcher) released three singles by Jan & ARNIE while Dean was in the Army reserves. Shortly after Dean's release, Arnie quit the music business and Dean rejoined Jan. In 1959, they recorded several singles and an album on Dore (including their first Top 10 hit "Baby Talk"). In May 1961, the duo switched to the Challenge label, then later that year they finally signed with Liberty, enjoying a string of hits from 1962 to 1966.
