Joey Dee and The Starliters, were the house band at the extremely popular Nightclub in New York, The Peppermint Lounge. They played there from 1960-1963. Who could forget the 1961 hit "The Peppermint Twist" by Joey Dee and The Starliters? The hits dried up by mid 1963 when the twist craze faded away. Three members of the Starliters, Eddie Brigati, Felix Caviliere and Gene Cornish, went on to form The Young Rascals. Actor Joe Pesci played guitar for the Starliters in 1961.
