quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the Tull studio album was released in 1979?

Answer: Stormwatch

"Stormwatch" was released in 1979, with "A" in 1980, "Songs from the Wood" in 1977 and "Heavy Horses" in 1978.
2. In the song "Farm on the Freeway", at the end of each verse, what is the correct order of lyrics throughout the song?

Answer: I left my farm on the freeway, looks like my farm is a freeway, when I left my farm under the freeway

The end of the first verse is "I left my farm on the freeway", the end of the second "Looks like my farm is a freeway" and the end of the final verse "when I left my farm under the freeway". You need to know the song well for that one.(That or you have the lyrics in front of you...)
3. What is the name of the concert disc that was originally a bootleg and was released officially as a bonus disc with the 2004 remaster of "A"?

Answer: Slipstream

Originally released in 1981, "Slipstream" was recorded in 1980 during the "A" tour, with the bonus disc in the 2004 remaster of "A" being the only official release of the concert.
4. What was the first year in which the band did not release a studio album, after their debut?

Answer: 1981

After releasing their studio album "A" in 1980, the band took their first year off in 1981 since their first album "This Was", before releasing their 1982 album "The Broadsword and the Beast".
5. What was the name of the previously unreleased track (at the time) featured on "M.U. The Best Of Jethro Tull"?

Answer: Rainbow Blues

"Rainbow Blues" was the only unreleased album on the 1975 compilation album "M.U. The Best Of Jethro Tull". "Glory Row" was released one year later on "Repeat: The Best Of Jethro Tull Vol. II". "Sealion 2" was first released on "Nightcap - The Unreleased Masters" and "Warchild Waltz" was released on the 2002 remaster of "Warchild". All four of these tracks can be found, in fact, on the 2002 remaster of "Warchild".
6. Which Tull song is this lyric from? - "Bad mouth on a prayer day, hope no one's listening"

Answer: Roots to Branches

"Roots to Branches" was from the 1995 studio album of the same name. The lyric directly after this one would have given away the answer.
7. On the back of the original vinyl album cover of "Crest of a Knave" who does Chrysalis Records supposedly thank?

Answer: Only themselves for allowing the band to sign another contract

This was likely written by Ian Anderson himself, due to the standard wit and humour involved. If Ian wrote something, you can always expect it to be humourous in some regard. Though the band did win a Grammy for this album, the original vinyl album cover wouldn't have stated that fact yet.
8. A live version of the song "Jump Start" which was released as a single around the time of the release of the album "Catfish Rising" was also included as a bonus track on the 2006 remaster of the album. Which lyric from the ORIGINAL version of the song did lead singer Ian Anderson get wrong in this particular version?

Answer: Hey, Mr. Weatherman come on over. Hook me up to the power lines of your love.

In this live version (recorded on the 25th November, 1987) the line leading into the final chorus, should have been "Hey, Mr. Weatherman come on over. Hook me up to the power lines of your love". "Mr. Weatherman" was replaced with "Jack the Ripper" (which was already in a previous verse). Funnily enough, a different version from the live album, "In Concert at the Hammersmith Odeon" (1991) Ian got the SAME LYRIC wrong, instead replacing "Mr. Weatherman" with "Jack the Weatherman". Seriously, Ian?
9. Inside the newspaper featured in the cover of "Thick as a Brick", the very first inside page advertises a double feature film. What is the name of the first of these films?

Answer: Lust of a Small Nun

Inside this fictitiously written newspaper, the film "Lust of a Small Nun" is advertised with "Bank Clerk and the Wise Man" as a double feature. "Do Not See Me Rabbit" is the name of a different article in the newspaper and "Non-Rabbit Missing" was the name of another article.
10. On the fourth disc of the "25th Anniversary Box Set" which is the only song performed from the studio album "Under Wraps"?

Answer: Nobody's Car

There only two live versions of songs from "Under Wraps" (that I know of) released on CD. These are, in fact, "Nobody's Car" from this disc and "Under Wraps #2" from the live album "A Little Light Music" (This was played as an instrumental).
