Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where was Peter Andre born?

Answer: Middlesex, England

Although many people think he is Australian, Peter was born Peter James Andre on 27th February 1973, in Harrow, Middlesex. Peter has four older brothers and one sister. Peter's family emigrated to Australia when he was ten years old.
2. Always a big music fan, Peter wrote his first song at the age of 13. In 1990, Peter appeared on which Australian television talent show?

Answer: New Faces

Peter won not only the contest, but also a recording contract, when he appeared on the show on 18th April 1990. He performed a version of the Bobby Brown hit "Don't Be Cruel".
3. Which of Peter's singles was the first to reach the UK top ten?

Answer: Mysterious Girl

"Mysterious Girl" reached number two in June 1996, following lower chart placings for "Turn It Up" and "Only One". Peter became something of a pop pin-up. Famed for his six-pack stomach, he won many "The best looking man in pop" type awards in various UK magazines.
4. Peter's second number one in the UK shared it's title with a song by Depeche Mode. Which one?

Answer: I Feel You

Another case of "Same title, different song"! Peter's "Flava" reached number one in September 1996, with "I Feel You" following it to the top of the charts in December.
5. Which artist did Peter Andre play support to on her "Girlie Show" tour of Australia and the UK in 1993?

Answer: Madonna

Peter also toured with Bobby Brown, before headlining shows for himself in the UK.
6. Which American rapper was featured on Peter's "All Night All Right" hit?

Answer: Warren G

Warren Griffin, aka Warren G, had several chart hits himself, including "Regulate" and "Smokin' Me Out". His collaboration with Peter Andre was a reasonable number 16 hit in 1998.
7. "People always see me, and laugh with full content, But then I see them doin' it, they sure ain't heaven sent" are lyrics from which Peter Andre song?

Answer: Funky Junky

Despite being an Australian hit, "Funky Junky" was not issued as a single in the UK. It can, however, be found on Peter's "Best Of" compilation.
8. Peter Andre dated which former Spice Girl for nine months?

Answer: Mel B

Peter revealed on "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here", that he and Mel B had previously been a couple.
9. Whilst appearing on "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here", Peter wrote a new song which he sang to the other celebrities around their jungle camp fire. What was it called?

Answer: Insania

According to Peter, "Insania" is an amalgam of the words "insane" and "mania". The song did not go down well with fellow celebrity John Lydon, who could be seen covering his ears! Presenters Ant and Dec seemed to like it though, and the campaign to get the song recorded and released was soon on.

The show had only been finished a short time before a ringtone for a mobile phone version of "Insania" was issued. "Spiders and Snakes" is an old Jim Stafford hit, but would have been appropriate as a jungle song!
10. Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry McFadden was voted the winner of the 2004 edition of "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here", but what position did Peter come in?

Answer: Third

Runner-up was ex-BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond, with Peter coming a credible third. While he was in the jungle, interest in the show was so great that a campaign was started to get Peter's 1996 hit "Mysterious Girl" re-issued. It was duly released again in February 2004, and went straight to the top of the charts. It's interesting that a TV show can get a nation talking and be responsible for the revival of what could have been thought of as a faded pop career. Wonder how long it will last for Peter Andre this time?

Footnote: In September 2005, Peter Andre married his fellow jungle celebrity Jordan (Katie Price), and the couple had a son. And all because they met on a TV show!
