Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following "Sisters" is not a song title?

Answer: Sister Sledge

Sister Sledge was a group, perhaps best known for their 70s hit song "We Are Family". "Sister Madly" is a song performed by Crowded House, "Sister Jane" was a 70s hit for New World. Elliott Murphy performs perhaps the least-known "Sister Real".
2. Which of the following "Son" songs was performed by Paul Jones?

Answer: Sons And Lovers

"Sons And Lovers" was the Paul Jones song, who had another well-known hit with "I've Been A Bad Bad Boy". Travelling backwards through the decades, we see Genesis performing "No Son Of Mine" in the 80s, Cat Stevens singing autobiographically, perhaps, in the 70s on "Father And Son", and Dusty Springfield with the 60s number "Son Of A Preacher Man".
3. Which of these "Brother" songs is not performed by a group (i.e. 2 or more performers)?

Answer: Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show

"Brother Love..." was a pentecostal styled hit for Neil Diamond. "Like Sister And Brother" was a comeback hit for The Drifters in the mid-70s. "Brothers In Arms" was the title track of Dire Straits' huge 80s album, and "He Was My Brother" can be found on Simon & Garfunkel's 60s folk-styled album, "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.".
4. Who performs the song "Here Comes My Wife"?

Answer: Cat Stevens

"Here Comes My Wife" is performed by Cat Stevens, and can be found on the album "The World Of Cat Stevens".
5. Which of these "Mama" songs is a rap tune?

Answer: Dear Mama

"Dear Mama" is a 2Pac song, and is rap. Definitely not qualifying as rap tunes, we have "Look Mama" which was one of a number of hits for Howard Jones in the mid-80s and "Mama's Little Girl" performed by Linda George in the 70s. "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)" was a song by Three Dog Night, perhaps best known for the tune "Joy To The World".
6. "Hoochie Gucci Fiorucci Mama" is a song by which Australian group?

Answer: Australian Crawl

All of the groups listed here were big names on the Australian music scene in the 80s. Australian Crawl had a distinctive sound in no small part due to the listener's inability to decipher the singing of lead singer James Reyne without the assistance of a lyrics sheet!
7. "Grandad" was a hit in Britain in the 70s for which actor?

Answer: Clive Dunn

Clive Dunn sang "Grandad". Clive played the part of Lance-Corporal Jones in the 70s TV comedy Dad's Army. John Le Mesurier played Sergeant Wilson in the same show. Richard Harris was famous for singing about cakes left out in the rain in "Macarthur Park". Tim Brooke-Taylor is best known for his role in the 70s TV series, The Goodies.
8. "Sister Golden Hair" was a hit 70s song for which group?

Answer: America

America performed "Sister Golden Hair". Each of these groups was highly successful in the 70s in America and internationally.
9. Complete this Cat Stevens song lyric: "Well here comes my wife, And that's the story of my life, She _______ me..."

Answer: haunts

The answer is haunts. The full verse is "Here comes my wife, And that's the story of my life, She haunts me, though she don't want me, She follows badly in disguise, Though it's not hard to recognise her, 'Cos she's cryin', She looks like dyin', on me....". Happy song!
10. "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" was a song that Paul McCartney originally released on an album credited to Wings.

Answer: False

False. "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" was released on the "Ram" album in 1971, prior to the formation of Wings (in 1972).
