Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Where's My Thing' is part what of 'The Gangster Of Boats' trilogy?

Answer: IV

Although it sounds silly, the song is actually part IV of the trilogy. The silly thing about it is that there isn't a 'Gangster of Boats' trilogy, it was just an inside joke. (However, I have no idea what the joke was.)
2. From 1974 to 1996, how many studio albums had the band recorded?

Answer: 16

Rush recorded 16 studio albums in that span of time.
3. What Rush song has the single word 'Listen' as its only printed lyrics?

Answer: 'Didacts And Narpets

If you have ever heard the song, then you know that there are many more words than just 'Listen'. There many websites that contain complete lists of Rush lyrics.
4. On the album 'Signals', who played electric violins on the song 'Losing It'?

Answer: Ben Mink

Ben Mink plays violin on this particular track. To my knowledge it is his only appearance ever on a Rush track.
5. What Rush instrumental was given lyrics on their live album 'Exit...Stage Left'?

Answer: La Villa Strangiato

There is a complete list of the lyrics for 'La Villa Strangiato' on the inside cover of 'Exit...Stage Left'. I still prefer the non-singing version.
6. Who plays the piano on the song 'Different Strings'?

Answer: Hugh Syme

Hugh Syme once again makes a special appearance on a Rush album. He also played keyboards on 'Tears' from the '2112' album.
7. What singer makes a special appearance on 'Time Stand Still'?

Answer: Aimee Mann

Aimee Mann, the lead singer for the band 'Til Tuesday, also appeared on the video for 'Time Stand Still'.
8. Which one of these songs did NOT appear on 'Retrospective II'?

Answer: The Spirit Of Radio

'Retrospective I' covers some of the band's greatest hits from 1974 to 1980, which is the album that 'Spirit Of Radio' appeared on. 'Retrospective II' covers hits from 1981 to 1987.
9. What Rush song was inspired by 'A Nice Morning Drive' by Richard S. Foster?

Answer: Red Barchetta

'A Nice Morning Drive' was a short story that appeared in the November 1973 issue of 'Road and Track'. It's a very cool story!
10. Whose voice do you hear saying the word 'Subdivisions' on the song of the same name?

Answer: Neil Peart

Mark Daly, a newscaster, was often called 'The Voice of Toronto'. It was common belief that Mark Daly's voice was heard in the song, but Neil Peart says it was his voice heard in the song.
