Keyboardist Ron Mael was born in Culver City, California, on the 12th of August, 1948. His younger brother Russell was born in Santa Monica, California, on the 5th of October, 1953. Russell is Sparks' lead singer.
2. What was the name of the brothers' band prior to becoming Sparks?

Answer: Halfnelson

Halfnelson were formed in 1969, with Russell on vocals, Ron on keyboards, Earle Mankey on guitar and John Mendelsohn on drums.

They released their debut (and only album as Halfnelson) under the same name in 1971. It was re-released as 'Sparks' in 1972.
3. What was the name of Sparks' second album?

'A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing' was released in 1972 on Bearsville Records.
