In my personal opinion "The Day Before You Came" is one of ABBA's most under-rated songs. It has been interpreted as a woman reciting all the boring things she does in a day before she meets her love and it's been interpreted as a woman reciting all the things she does before she meets her death. Regardless of your interpretation, it is a haunting, beautiful song.

It was released in 1982 as the first new song from the compilation album "The Singles: The First Ten Years" and did not chart at all in the U.S. It reached number thirty-two in the U.K. as ABBA's success was on the decline at the time. The song has been covered a number of times including by new wave band Blancmange who released it in the U.K. in 1984 and saw it reach number twenty-two on the charts there.

Answer: Sheena Is A Punk Rocker

One of the most popular Ramones songs, "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" was released in 1977 off their "Rocket To Russia" album. It is notable because it actually refers to the sub-culture of punk rock in the title.

It has been covered numerous times by bands such as Rancid, Sonic Youth and by the fantastic Japanese female punk band Shonen Knife who included it in their 2012 Ramones tribute album "Osaka Ramones."

"One" is the third song on the U2 album "Acthung Baby" and was released in 1992 as a benefit single, with all profits from the sales going to benefit various AIDS organizations in the countries where the song was released. The song reached number seven in the U.K. and number one in the U.S.

There are three different videos recorded for this song. One of the videos features Bono sitting at a table smoking and drinking. While he was being filmed, the rest of the band and extras who were waiting to be called onto the set were waiting and waiting until finally it became too late, the video recording wrapped up, and the final version was just of Bono interspersed with performance footage of the band.

"Hotline Bling" can be found on Drake's album "Views". It reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The video shows Drake dancing and has inspired many memes and parodies, including a parody on the TV show "Saturday Night Live". As of June 2020 the video had 1.6 billion views on You Tube!

"You Oughta Know" can be found on the Alanis Morissette album "Jagged Little Pill." This song was released in 1995 and was part of the transformation for Morissette from pure pop singer to a more alternative/rock style. The song won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song and Morissette won for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.

The song has been covered and sampled a number of times. Britney Spears covered it, Weird Al Yankovic used a portion of it for his song "The Alternative Polka" and Beyonce sampled it during her 2009 tour.

"Uptown Funk" was initially written by Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, and Jeff Bhasker and included on the Marc Ronson album "Uptown Special", featuring singer Bruno Mars. The song was a big hit and won numerous awards, including British Single of the Year at the Brit Awards, Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Song of the Year at the Soul Train Music Awards.

The song is used in the 2016 movie "Zootopia" and broke the record for the most streamed track in the U.S. in one week.

What can I say about the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen? Included in their 1975 album "A Night At The Opera" it is one of the most famous songs in the world. It was originally released in 1975 and was at the top of the U.K. singles charts for nine weeks.

The song peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976 but received renewed interest in 1992 when it was used in the movie "Wayne's World"; at that time it hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100. It received renewed interest yet again when the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody", a movie about the band, was released in 2018.

The song "Happy" was written, produced and sung by Pharrell Williams for the "Despicable Me 2" soundtrack. The song reached number one in over 20 countries, including the U.K., U.S., Canada and New Zealand. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original song and Williams performed it at the 2014 Academy Awards and it was a fun and lively performance. Williams (and his hat) managed to get actresses Lupita Nyong'o, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams dancing along.

Canadian band Crash Test Dummies released this pretty awful song in 1993. It was quite successful and hit number one in a number of countries including Australia, Belgium and Denmark. It was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal but lost to "I Swear" by All-4-One.

In Canada it only hit number fourteen and it has been included on quite a few lists on the internet of bad songs, including a Rolling Stone list that stated this was the 15th Most Annoying Song!

"Total Eclipse Of The Heart" is Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler's biggest hit. It was released in 1983 and hit number one across the world, including in the U.S., the U.K., Australia and South Africa. In 1983 it won the Variety Club award for best single and it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The video for the song is also quite memorable, with Bonnie Tyler wearing white, lots of use of symbolism, doves flying and schoolboys dancing and doing school activities. The video was filmed at a large Victorian hospital which helps to give a haunting feel to the video.
