"Poker Face" comes from Lady Gaga's debut album "The Fame" (2008). Released as a single from 2008, it has sold over 13 million copies. Her debut single "Just Dance", from the same album, also reached the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 during 2008.

Destiny's Child started off in 1990 as Girl's Tyme. The group's members were gradually reduced to three by 2000. They also went through a succession of name changes (Something Fresh, Cliché, the Dolls, Destiny) before settling on Destiny's Child in 1996. Law suits were a feature and disbandment eventually brought things to a close. Four singles made it to the top, the others being "Bills, Bills, Bills", "Independent Women Part I" and "Bootylicious".

Mariah Carey first hit the charts with her self-titled debut album in 1990, which gave her four consecutive chart toppers on the Billboard Hot 100. More hits followed; however, she suffered a breakdown in 2001 and it took some years for her to regain chart success. Her acting career has also matured and she received several nominations for her performance in the 2009 film "Precious".

Born Katheryn Elizabeth ("Katy") Hudson, she started using her mother's maiden name to avoid confusion with the actress Kate Hudson. The album "Teenage Dream" produced five singles which all topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the first female artist to achieve this.

Born Alicia Augello Cook in Manhattan, New York, she was raised by her mother. "What A Girl Wants" was released during November 1999 but did not reach number one until January 2000.
