Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Unbelievable"

Answer: EMF

EMF made some fine music in the early nineties, such as "Unbelievable", "I Believe", "They're Here", and their amazing collaboration with Vic Reeves for the "I'm A Believer" cover. Sadly, bassist Zac Foley passed away on 3rd January 2002 from a drug overdose.
2. "I Honestly Love You"

Answer: Olivia Newton-John

"But she's Australian!" I hear you cry. Well, not exactly. She may have been raised Down Under, but she was born in Cambridge, UK in 1948.
3. "Karma Chameleon"

Answer: Culture Club

One of the most successful bands of the eighties, it's surprising now to look back and think that, on his first appearance on UK television, people weren't sure if Boy George was male or female! Still, the boy himself was just as famous for proclaiming he prefers "a nice cup of tea" to sex as for his music itself!
4. "Wannabe"

Answer: Spice Girls

Britain's most successful female vocal group had eight number one hits in the UK, but this was the sole US release to hit the summit.
5. "Together Forever"

Answer: Rick Astley

Cheesy soul-voiced singer Rick Astley had two US number ones with "Together Forever" and "Never Gonna Give You Up". Thankfully, we in the UK only let him have one.
6. "West End Girls"

Answer: Pet Shop Boys

This highly talented duo (Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant) are still having regular top 20 hits in the UK even now. No duo has ever achieved more UK chart entries than this act.
7. "Higher Love"

Answer: Steve Winwood

Reached only number 13 in the UK, but was a 1986 number one Stateside. I used to love this single in my teen years, but having heard it recently, I've just noticed how bad the lyrics were!
8. "You Keep Me Hangin' On"

Answer: Kim Wilde

A big hit in the mid-eighties for Marty Wilde's daugter, Kim. If you went for the Supremes, who also hit the top with this song, don't forget, you're looking only for UK artists here.
9. "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)"

Answer: George Harrison

Perhaps not as famous as his other two US number ones, "My Sweet Lord" and "Got My Mind Set On You", this single hit the top in 1973. It peaked at number 8 in the UK. Sadly missed artist.
10. "Shout"

Answer: Tears For Fears

Though very popular in the US, the band failed to hit the number one spot in the British charts. They did achieve a number two hit however, with "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", which was also their other US number one.
