He became popular with his song, "Piano Man"(1973). He writes and performs all his own songs and has been included in The Songwriters Hall Of Fame (1992) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999).
2. Who was "Running in the Family" in 1987?

This song made number six in the U.K. Charts in 1987. In 1979 Level 42 was formed. Other hits include "Lessons in Love"(1986) and "My Father's Shoes" (1992). The lead singer is Mark King and they have still been performing live, with most of the original line up, in the 2000's.
