The Shocking Blue had a number one hit for one week on the US pop chart with "Venus" in 1970. It reached number eight on the UK chart the same year.

The Shocking Blue were the first artists from Holland to top the US chart. "Venus" earned them a Gold Record in the US for over 1,000,000 sales and it sold over 5,000,000 copies worldwide. The group broke up in 1974 by which time they had sold more than 13,000,000 records.

The Jackson 5 had a number one hit for two weeks on the US pop chart with "ABC" in 1970. It reached number eight on the UK chart the same year.

The Jackson 5 were Michael (born 1958), Marlon (born 1957), Jermaine (born 1954), Tito (born 1953) and Jackie (born 1951). Jermaine was replaced by Randy (born 1961) in 1976. They hit the top of the US chart with their first four singles and all four of their US number one hits came in 1970.

Ray Stevens had a number one hit for two weeks on the US pop chart with "Everything Is Beautiful" in 1970. It reached number six on the UK chart the same year. It was his first chart hit in the UK.

This was The Beatles' 20th US number one hit and they spent 59 weeks at number one over six years. Their most successful year was the first, 1964. The Beatles dominated the US pop chart with the top three singles in the same week, the top five singles in the same week, 14 songs on the Hot 100 in the same week and they charted 30 songs in one year. There will never be anything like them again.
"Lady Madonna" reached number four on the US pop chart and number one for two weeks on the UK chart in 1968.
"The Ballad Of John And Yoko" reached number eight on the US pop chart and number one for three weeks on the UK chart in 1969.
"Something" reached number three on the US pop chart and number four on the UK chart as a double A-side with "Come Together" in 1969.

Bread had a number one hit for one week on the US pop chart with "Make It With You" in 1970. It reached number five on the UK chart the same year. It was their only US number one hit and their only UK top 10 hit.

All eleven chart entries by Bread before the group split up in 1973 were written (which played a part in the groups split) by multi-talented group leader David Gates, (Vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion, violin and viola). The group re-united in 1976 and achieved a number nine hit on the US pop chart with "Lost Without Your Love" in 1977. After another minor hit in 1977 the group went their separate ways and never hit the US pop chart again.
Cream had a number five hit on the US pop chart with "Sunshine Of Your Love" in 1968. It reached number 25 on the UK chart the same year.
The Honey Cone had a number 11 hit on the US pop chart with "Stick-Up" in 1971. It did not chart in the UK.
Strawberry Alarm Clock had a number one hit for one week on the US pop chart with "Incense And Peppermints" in 1967. It did not chart in the UK.

The US TV series "The Partridge Family" ran from 1970 to 1974 and starred Shirley Jones, David Cassidy and Susan Dey. Shirley Jones and David Cassidy were the only two cast members to sing on The Partridge Family recordings. David Cassidy went on to have a solo singing career. In the US he had one Top 10 hit and three Top 40 hits in 1971/72. In the UK he had nine Top 20 hits which included three Top 10 hits and two number one hits 1972/75. 10 years later in 1985 he had a number six hit and a minor hit on the UK chart. five years after that in 1990 he had a number 27 hit on the US pop chart. As for the other three alternate Partridge Family songs:
"Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted" was a number six hit on the US pop chart in 1971. It failed to chart in the UK.
"I'll Meet You Halfway" was a number nine hot on the US pop chart in 1971. It failed to chart in the UK.
"I Woke Up In Love This Morning" was a number 13 hit on the US pop chart in 1971. It failed to chart in the UK.

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles had a number one hit for two weeks on the US pop chart with "The Tears Of A Clown" in 1970. It reached number one for one week on the UK chart the same year.
