Dame Kiri Te Kanawa was feted in many countries for her beautiful singing voice. She has sung the music of a wide variety of different composers in many different languages but is especially known for singing Mozart, Strauss, Handel and Puccini. She has retired from performing and has set up the 'Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation' to help young people to develop musical careers.

Because she wanted to act in films she moved to Los Angeles where she has indeed starred in many including 'The Mask of Zorro' and 'Intolerable Cruelty'.

In 'Chicago' she plays the murderess Velma Kelly. She meets Roxie Hart when they are both in prison, and they end up doing an act together.

At the age of 13 Darcey was admitted to the Royal Ballet School. She started her career at the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet, but it was only one year before she joined the Royal Ballet as a principle dancer because she had caught the eye of choreographer Kenneth Macmillan who created his ballet 'The Prince of the Pagodas' which was based on her.

She stayed at the Royal Ballet for over twenty years until she retired from dancing. Darcey has also done a lot of television work especially presenting programmes about dancing.

She is now probably best known for her role as a judge of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

J.K. (Joanne) Rowling is best known for her creation of the Harry Potter series which has won multiple awards, and been the basis for a movie series. She has also written several novels under the name of Robert Galbraith including 'The Cuckoo's Calling' and 'The Silkworm'. J.K. Rowling was the world's first billionaire author, but she is no longer a billionaire because she has given a large part of her fortune to charity.

Zara Tindall nee Zara Philips is the only daughter of Princess Anne the Princess Royal, and is the Queen's second eldest grandchild. In 2006 she won the 'Eventing World Championship' in Aachen and that same year she was voted 'The BBC Sports Personality of the Year'.

When the Olympic Games came to London in 2012 she and the British eventing team won a silver medal. She is married to Mike Tindall who was an England Rugby Union Player. The couple have a daughter Mia and it was announced in January 2018 that she is expecting another child.

In 1954 David Attenborough in conjunction with the BBC made a programme about an expedition to find animals for zoos called 'Zoo Quest'. Although he would not hunt animals for zoos now, he has continued to make wildlife programmes for over sixty years including 'Life on Earth', 'The Life of Birds' and 'The Blue Planet'.

His brother, the late Richard Attenborough, appeared in many movies including 'The Great Escape' and 'Miracle on 34th Street', and directed such films as 'Ghandhi' 'Chaplin' and 'Shadowlands'.

Neil Simon grew up in New York and began by writing for radio and television including material for Mel Brooks, Sid Caesar and the 'Phil Silvers Show'. His first play was 'Come Blow Your Horn', which opened in Broadway in 1961, and since then he has written more than thirty plays.

He has received more combined Oscar and Tony nominations than any other playwright. 'Barefoot in the Park' is about a newly wed couple and is based on his own life, and 'The Odd Couple' is about a couple of old friends who end up living together when one of them breaks up with his wife.
