Jacques Cartier was an explorer sent by the king of France to find gold and riches, but all that was found was beavers. During his life, Cartier made three trips to America, the first being in 1534.

Answer: Catherine Lundy

Catherine Lundy met the Canadian soldiers before the battle to give them water after they had walked 20 kilometers. After the battle, a soldier gave her his sword to thank her. The battle that took place is called the Battle of Lundy's Lane.

Laura Secord overheard a conversation between some American officers, and because her husband James was wounded, she had to make the journey herself. During her walk of 32 kilometres (about 20 miles), she stopped at a native village to ask for help. The chief of the village sent a few men to help her bring her message to FitzGibbon.

She is commemorated with a statue in Ottawa, and Laura Secord Chocolates are named after her.

He is also known as the 'Father of Quebec. He established Quebec on a hill by a river, so it was safe from enemies, for they could always see if they were coming. Also, Quebec was close to a water source, so you could go fishing and ship goods on the St. Lawrence River.
