All four were dated by Charles in the 70s and all have a certain claim to fame. Davina Sheffield is the cousin of the wife of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Sabrina Guinness of the brewing giants went on to date Mick Jagger, Jack Nicholson and David Bowie after Charles and Lady Jane Wellesley is daughter of the Duke of Wellington. It was Diana's elder sister though, Lady Sarah Spencer, that played cupid for the couple after their own romance had died following a newspaper interview that she gave.

This interview was said to have infuriated Charles as she gave details of her battles with anorexia nervosa and alcoholism, admitted to having had "thousands of boyfriends" and stated that she would not marry Charles "if he were the dustman or the King of England".

Lowe was a long time admirer of Princess Stephanie and the couple first met in Paris in 1986, at a dinner party. According to Lowe, in his 2011 memoir, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography", "by dessert, neither of us is interested in anything other than getting the hell out of there and back to her apartment" and he later learned that between courses, Stephanie had called her butler and asked him to remove all traces of her current boyfriend from the apartment. Sadly, the relationship didn't work out, with Lowe claiming that he didn't appreciate the lack of work ethic displayed by the princess and her friends. Lowe went on to marry makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff In 1991 and star in TV shows "The West Wing" (1999-2003) and "Parks And Recreation" (2010-2015) while Stephanie reinvented herself as a pop star and had two number one singles on the French charts and had relationships with her bodyguard Daniel Ducruet, as well as circus stars, elephant trainer Franco Knie and acrobat Adans Lopez Peres.

An American actress, Stark dated Prince Andrew for around two years in the early 80s, was much liked by the Queen and was widely tipped to become his bride and Duchess of York. However, once the palace and the wider world became aware of the nature of the film "Emily" (1976), the relationship was doomed.

The UK tabloids took particular delight in printing stills from the movie, most famously of Stark naked and of Stark's character, Emily and her lesbian encounter with Augustine Wain, played by Ina Skriver.

The two remained good friends after their relationship ended, with Prince Andrew being made god-father to Stark's daughter in 1997. Andrew also dated George Clooney's ex girlfriend, Croatian bikini model Monika Jakisic in 2014 and was at one point rumoured to be engaged to her, a claim which was denied by both Prince Andrew and Buckingham Palace.

Hayworth was still legally married to Orson Welles when she and Khan began dating in 1948. Just a year later on May 27, 1949, the two were married, making Hayworth the first Hollywood actress to become a princess. She broke off her contract with Columbia Pictures and left the USA to start a new life in France, giving birth to a daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan in December 1949.
Sadly, her new life didn't work out as Hayworth struggled to learn French and make friends among Khan's inner circle and in 1951, she returned to the USA, finally getting divorced in 1953.
Hayworth would later marry singer, Dick Haymes in 1953, while Prince Aly dated another Hollywood star, actress Gene Tierney. The pair were engaged for a year, but Prince Aly's father, Aga Khan III, refused to give his blessing to another Hollywood union and the engagement was eventually called off.

Prince Edward's list of romantic attachments prior to his wedding to Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999 is long and varied. Radio presenter, Alison Bell spoke of his soft lips, Eleanor Weightman called him by the affectionate name "Munchkin" and met the Queen before breaking off the relationship due to media attention. This was the same reason given for the break up of his relationship with Georgia May (daughter of a millionaire boat builder) and following her, the prince dated West End actress Ruthie Henshall. His relationship with TV journalist was considered serious, but she chose her career over settling down and another girlfriend, Romy Alderton ended any romance by giving a kiss and tell interview to UK tabloids.
Given this long list, it seems quite surprising that rumours of Edward's sexuality were so strong he publicly denied being gay when asked by reporters in USA in 1990.
Ulrika Jonsson said nothing about their relationship for many years, other than to state she knew he was not gay, but in 2020, finally admitted that the pair had been on several dates and enjoyed "a bit of a slap and tickle."

Hutton was heiress to a third of the Woolworth empire and was known as "Poor Little Rich Girl" in the 1930s, when she had an extravagant debutante ball in 1930, while most people were struggling with the Great Depression. Prince Igor Troubetzkoy, her fourth husband, was an expatriate Russian prince who was the first person to drive a Ferrari in a Formula One race when he did so at Monaco in 1948, the same year that he married Hutton. This marriage lasted just four years.

Hutton then married Porfirio Rubirosa for 53 days, before marrying German tennis star Baron Gottfried von Cramm in 1955, although this marriage also ended in divorce in 1959. Her final marriage was to Prince Pierre Raymond Doan Vinh, an adopted member of the former royal family of the Kingdom of Champasak (modern-day Laos). Once again though this was a short lived relationship with the pair divorced in 1966. Hutton died in May 1979, aged 66 and her story is told in the NBC TV movie, "Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story" (1987) which won a Golden Globe for Best Miniseries or Television Film as well as a Best Actress nomination for Farrah Fawcett who played Hutton.

Indian, Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, became the first openly gay prince in the world when he came out in 2006. In 2007, he appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on TV in USA to talk about the pressures of being gay within the Gujarati community, coupled with being a member of royalty.

His husband, DeAndre Richardson is a former Macy's cosmetic counter employee and in 2018, the couple opened up their 15-acre palace grounds to help house vulnerable LGBT people who might otherwise be "left with nothing" when "their families disown them after coming out".

Spears debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2008, and work with Prada, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy soon followed. She has appeared on the covers of many magazines including, "Vogue China", "Vogue Nippon", "Vogue Germany", "Vogue Espana" and "Vogue Mexico" and married Prince Rahim, the eldest son of the Aga Khan at Geneva's Château de Bellerive in 2013.

Prince Albert was a serial dater before his marriage, having been linked romantically with names such as American pole vaulter Alicia Warlick, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Australian singer Kylie Minogue and Argentinian tennis star Gabriela Sabatini among many others. Albert and Charlene first met in Monaco in 2000, and married in 2011, following her retirement from professional competition in 2007.

In 2014, the couple welcomed twins into the world, Princess Gabriella and Hereditary Prince Jacques, who is heir apparent to the throne.

Prince Harry dated Cressida Bonas, future star of movies such as "Tulip Fever" (2017) and "The Bye Bye Man" (2017) between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that he had a relationship with TV presenter Caroline Flack, which ended in 2009, mainly due to the amount of attention they were attracting from the media.

Although neither party confirmed a relationship, Harry and Ellie Goulding did spend a lot of time together in 2016. Goulding was asked about the romance on Australian TV show, "The Project TV" she became very embarrassed and refused to answer, leaving viewers to draw their own conclusions.
