Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Operation Omega was to track down which serial killer?

Answer: David Berkowitz

Operation Omega was a task force headed by Deputy Inspector Timothy Dowd to track down a serial killer who was killing women with a 44 magnum. However, it was task member Joseph Borelli who got an anonymous letter, the contents of which led to the killer being called Son of Sam.
2. His victim ran out into the streets naked. But this serial killer managed to convince the police that they were just having a lover's tiff. He then proceeded to kill the boy.

Answer: Jeffrey Dahmer

The young boy was Konerak Sinthasomphone. He was 14 years old and too drugged or drunk to defend himself coherently. In spite of two young eye witnesses who tried to argue otherwise, the police chose to believe the tall, blonde, calm Dahmer. Wonder how they feel about the fact that they delivered the poor boy to his murderer.
3. There was Jack the Ripper and then there was the Yorkshire Ripper. What was the real name of the Yorkshire Ripper?

Answer: Peter Sutcliffe

On Friday the 21st of January 1981, his spree finally came to an end. In 5 years he had killed 13 women and savagely attacked seven more.
4. Richard Ramirez was refered to as which of these nicknames?

Answer: Night Stalker

True life crime novelist Linebecker thought the horror in his soul was equal to that of a Stephen King or Clive Barker fright novel. He later wrote a novel about this disciple of Satan.
5. He was a handsome personal accountant. She was a pretty blonde. They seemed like the perfect Canadian couple except that she used to supply him with teenagers whom he would sexually assault.

No one will ever know why he killed the designer because he shot himself in the head before he could be apprehended.
7. The classic image of Jack the Ripper. A fog shrouded figure, a long knife and what kind of bag?

Answer: Gladstone

He may have murdered 'only' five people. They were prostitutes that no one really cared about. But Jack will always haunt everyone's imagination because no one knows who Jack the Ripper really was. Please tell me no one said Louis Vuitton.
8. He killed his victims in Düsseldorf in the 1920s. He is reputed to have asked if when he was executed, whether he could hear, even for a second, his blood gush out from his neck for that would be the pleasure to end all pleasures for him?

Answer: Peter Kurten

Peter Kurten was referred to as the Vampire of Dusseldorf. Enough said.
9. Ted Bundy murdered a lot of pretty college girls. A lot of people feel that the fact that he was dumped by his girlfriend at the University of Washington had a lot to do with it. What was the name of his girlfriend?

Answer: Stephanie Brooks

Interestingly, when they met again after a while, she was inclined to have another go at the relationship. Bundy then dumped her!
10. All his victims were strangled in their apartments, with articles of their own clothing.

Answer: Albert DeSalvo
