According to 1 Samuel 3, Eli's eyes began to wax dim that he could not see. It was at this time that God called Samuel. Samuel went to Eli three times thinking that the priest had called him. By the third time Eli realized that God was calling the child and told him how to respond. Samuel became a great prophet for God.

Genesis 32 tells the story of Jacob as he travels home. He knew he could not face his angry brother without the assurance of God's presence. After sending his servants and family ahead with gifts for Esau he was alone by the brook and there wrestled with what appeared to be a man until the breaking of the day.
Jacob soon realized that he had indeed wrestled with God and prevailed. He was given a new name - Israel.

Joseph was eventually sold into slavery and became a great man in Egypt. His dreams came true.

Soon after he had a change of heart and pursued after the Israelites with his army. God allowed them to be swallowed up in the Red Sea. (Genesis 12-14)

Balak, king of Moab was perturbed about the number of Israelites who had come out from Egypt. Even though Balaam knew God's will, his greed led him to incur God's displeasure by trying to curse the people who God had blessed. God allowed a donkey to talk to show Balaam the error of his ways. (Numbers 22)

His dream meant good things for him. Unfortunately for the baker his dream meant that in three days he would be beheaded. The Bible did not speak of Pharaoh's gardener.

Both dreams meant that there would be seven years of plenty then seven years of famine. Joseph was highly promoted after interpreting the dreams. (Genesis 41)
