Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to 1 Samuel 25:41-42, what woman said she wanted to be a servant to wash the feet of David's servants?

Answer: Abigail

Abigail made the statement that she would wash the feet of David's servants, as per 1 Samuel 25:41. She made the statement to David's servants after they informed her that David wanted her to become his wife. The proposal was issued on the heels of the death of Abigail's husband, Nabal. Scripture goes on to tell of Abigail rising in "haste", mounting a donkey, and following David's messengers to become his wife.
2. What woman laid down at the feet of Boaz?

Answer: Ruth

Ruth is the one who laid down at Boaz's feet while he was sleeping. Details can be found in Ruth 3:1-7. Scripture goes on to tell of Boaz taking Ruth as his wife and the two of them becoming parents of Obed. Ruth 4:21 states that Obed became the father of Jesse, who was the father of King David.
3. According to 1 Kings 15:23, what king of Judah had "diseased feet" when he was elderly?

Answer: Asa

Asa is the correct answer. The fact he had diseased feet in his "old age" is mentioned in passing reference, however. According to 1 Kings 15:24, Asa was buried in Bethlehem (the City of David) and was replaced by his son Jehoshaphat as king.
4. 2 Kings 9:35 tells of a woman who suffered a gruesome death and when they went to bury her, they found "no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands." What is the woman's name?

Answer: Jezebel

Jezebel, generally regarded as the most wicked woman in the Bible, is the correct answer. According to Scripture, Jezebel and her husband King Ahab were vehement opponents of the prophets of God, including Elijah.

She suffered a gruesome death with Scripture telling of her being pushed off a balcony by her aides. When she was plunged from the balcony "some of her blood spattered on the wall" and horses proceeded to trample her. When they went to get her body for burial, there was little left.

2 Kings 9:35 in the NKJV states: "So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands."
5. According to 2 Samuel 19:24, who had not "dressed his feet" while David was away at war?

Answer: Mephibosheth

2 Samuel 19:24 tells of Mephibosheth not caring for his feet, nor trimming his mustache, nor washing his clothes from the day King David departed until the day he returned in peace. The episode took place while Israel was involved in a bloody civil war with David's son Absalom staging a coup to become king.

Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, and Scripture reports that he was accidentally crippled when he was five years old. Israel was involved in yet another civil war resulting in the deaths of Saul and Jonathan when an unnamed nurse attempted to flee with Mephibosheth when he was crippled. (See 2 Samuel 4:4)

David and Mephibosheth's father were the best of friends. This, even though Jonathan's father, Saul, devoted much of his latter life trying to kill David. 2 Samuel 9:7 states that David restored to Mephibosheth all the land that belonged to his grandfather Saul and he ensured he would "always dine at his table with him."
6. According to John 11:2, what woman wiped Jesus' feet with her hair?

Answer: Mary

Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, is the correct answer. Details of Mary wiping Christ's feet with her hair can be found in John 11:1-2.

According to Scripture, she lived in Bethany with her brother Lazarus and sister Martha. Mary is also known for being attentive to Jesus while her sister Martha was busy preparing food for the gathering. Details can be found in Luke 10:38-42.
7. According to Luke 8:41, who fell at Jesus' feet and begged Him to heal his daughter?

Answer: Jairus

Jairus fell at Jesus' feet, begging Him to come and heal his unnamed twelve-year-old daughter who was seriously ill at the time. (See Mark 5:22-23.)

Scripture goes on to tell that, when Jesus arrived at the home of the girl, she was dead. In fact, the account tells of people weeping and wailing loudly. A few moments later, however, there would be total amazement when Christ raised the unnamed twelve-year-old girl from the dead.

Prior to raising the girl from the dead, Mark 5:33 also tells of an unnamed woman falling at Jesus' feet after she secretly touched Him and was healed of a bleeding problem she had suffered for twelve years.
8. Who was the woman who was busy working while her sister sat at Jesus' feet? (Luke 10:38-42)

Answer: Martha

While her sister Mary was by Jesus' feet listening to Him speak, Scripture tells of Martha being busy preparing things for the gathering. Going by Scripture, Martha was not impressed with the actions of her sister but Jesus saw things differently.

In Luke 10:42 He tells Martha she is "worried and troubled about many things" but Mary has done what is right. Details can be found in Luke 10:38-42.
9. According to Acts 21:10-11, who took a belt and bound his own hands and feet to predict what would happen to Paul?

Answer: Agabus

Agabus, known as a prophet, is the one who took Paul's belt and bound his hands and feet to illustrate what would happen to Paul should he go to Jerusalem. Details can be found in Acts 21:8-13.

Sure enough, the chapter goes on to tell of Paul being severely beaten and arrested. And true to the prediction of Agabus, Paul would be eventually turned over the Gentiles and be executed in Rome.
10. Who washed the disciples' feet at the Last Supper? (John 13:1-17)

Answer: Jesus

According to Scripture, Jesus washed the disciples' feet at the Last Supper.
Scripture tells of Jesus washing His disciples' feet with Peter wanting no part of the exercise. After Christ explained the washing of the feet was necessary, Peter responded by telling Jesus to wash his entire body.

The incident is documented in the thirteenth chapter of the Gospel of John.
