Elijah called the prophets of Baal to meet him on Mount Carmel to see whose God was the true God. The prophets of Baal called on their God from morning until noon, but there was no response. Then Elijah poured out twelve jars of water onto the altar and the bull.

Then fire from the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice. After this, Elijah had the prophets of Baal slaughtered in the Kishon Valley. You can read the full account in 1 Kings 18:21-40 (NIV).

"Ahab went to meet Elijah. When he saw Elijah, he said to him, 'Is that you, you troubler of Israel?' 'I have not made trouble for Israel,' Elijah replied. 'But you and your father's family have. You have abandoned the Lord's commands and have followed the Baals.'" 1 Kings 18:17-18 (NIV) Ahab was a king in Israel.

The king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. So the kings of Israel, Judah and Edom, banded together to conspire against Moab. They called on the prophet Elisha so that they might inquire of the Lord through him. "While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came upon Elisha" (2 Kings 3:13-15).

Elisha's God cured Naaman of his leprosy, and Naaman wanted to repay Elisha with a gift. But Elisha wouldn't accept anything from him. Naaman said to him, "But may the Lord forgive your servant for this one thing: When my master enters the temple of Rimmon to bow down and he is leaning on my arm and I bow down there also - when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord forgive your servant for this." (2 Kings 5:17-18)

Ahaziah had injured himself, so he sent his messengers to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if he would recover from his injury. But Elijah met the messengers and told them that because Ahaziah had inquired of the god of Ekron, he would certainly die. So Ahaziah sent a captain and a company of fifty men to tell Elijah to come to him. "Elijah answered the captain, 'If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!'" Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men" (2 Kings 1:2-14).

Elijah said to Ahab, "I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat and Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have provoked me to anger and have caused Israel to sin.
