Flying Spaghetti Monsterism Trivia Quiz

New religions emerge practically every year. In 2005, a man named Bobby Henderson revealed his faith in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a belief that has never been taken seriously. But then again, weren't all religions deemed crazy at first?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What do the Flying Spaghetti Monsterism faithful call themselves?

Answer: Pastafarians

This is not to be confused with Rastafarians; those are two very different things. Pastafarians are known to constantly provoke the wrath of the Flying Spaghetti Monster Almighty by their disobedience to the Eight I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts.
2. What is the name of the painting representing the Flying Spaghetti Monster creating what must be the first midgit (sic)?

Answer: Touched By His Noodly Appendage

It strangely resembles a famous painting called "The Creation of Adam", by Michelangelo. But it is unthinkable that plagiarism be the cause here...
3. Who do the followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster worship as divinities?

Answer: Pirates

Pirates are believed to be the original Pastafarians. The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster clearly states that they are "absolute divine beings". It also states that the role of pirates in History as we know it is the result of propaganda in the Middle Ages, mainly from Christian theologians and followers of Hare Krishna.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster (may He live eternoodly) remembers pirates as kind and generous people who gave away candies to children. Oh, and all this Bermuda Triangle thing is simply due to a ghost pirate ship wandering around the area.
4. According to the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, why did He create the world imperfectly?

Answer: Because He did it after drinking heavily

Before there was anything, there was the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And beer. Can you imagine the world without beer? He couldn't.
5. If the Flying Spaghetti Monster Heaven contains a beer volcano and a strippers factory, what does the Flying Spaghetti Monster Hell contain?

Answer: The same things

In His wisdom, the Flying Spaghetti Monster (may He be al dente for eternity) created Hell like He created the Heavens. In Hell, however, the beer is flat and the strippers have sexually transmitted diseases. Now, you're thinking: what does it matter if they have STDs? You're already dead.

But "He who doubts the wisdom of the Flying Spaghetti Monster shall perish in a thousand buckets of alfredo sauce." (Henderson 3;35).
6. What do followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster celebrate on September 19?

Answer: The International Talk Like a Pirate Day

The Pastafarian worshipping of pirates reaches its peak on September 19. This is the day when Flying Spaghetti Monsterists around the world speak out their faith in a Jack Sparrow kind of fashion. It is one of the favorite holidays of the younger followers.
7. According to Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, why are natural disasters more and more frequent and devastating?

Answer: Because of the decrease in number of pirates

The Pastafarian dogma makes a clear connection between these two. The less pirates there are in the world, the more cataclysms strike. Indeed, just looking at the official graph, as displayed in the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is convincing enough. This is a founding belief of Pastafarianism.
8. What is the most sacred Flying Spaghetti Monster holiday?

Answer: Holiday

Every Friday is a holy day in the Pastafarian cult, but the most important ones are Ramendan, Pastaover and, above all, Holiday. Holiday can be any day of the holiday season, which implies that two Pastafarian families may celebrate Holiday on a different day. As long as it's in the holiday season, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is okay with it.
9. To whom did the Flying Spaghetti Monster entrust the stone tablets in which He had carved the "Eight I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts"?

Answer: Captain Mosey

Mosey the pirate captain, as he is first called in the Gospel, was entrusted with the ten tablets on which the Flying Spaghetti Monster (glory be to His meatballs) had engraved the "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts". Unfortunately, Mosey lost two of them on the way down from the top of Mount Salsa. Let us remember the seventh "I'd Really Rather You Didn't" together: "I'd really rather you didn't challenge the bigoted, misogynistic, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the girls."
10. When was the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster published?

Answer: 28 March 2006

Ha! Whaddya think o' that! The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was published in 2006 by Bobby Henderson, self-proclaimed prophet of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (all prophets are self-proclaimed, strictly speaking - at least as far as we know by fact; I actually don't know whether Henderson was truly appointed by the Flying Spaghetti Monster - end of the bracket).

It was described by the "Austin Chronicle" as "a necessary bit of comic relief in the overly serious battle between science and superstition".

The "Daily Telegraph" called it "a brilliant, provocative, witty and important gem of a book". Not bad for something that started with a revolted letter to the Kansas State Board of Education! But these foolish journalists, beyond their report of a "funny book", surely know how real the Flying Spaghetti Monster is; can't we all feel His noodly presence?...
