Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The purpose of the burnt offering.

Answer: What is atonement for unintentional sin in general?

Leviticus 4:1-21 God knew that humans are imperfect and wanted to cover all bases. This sacrifice was for a sin that was unintentional. There were also sacrifices for specific types of sin by either individual people or the nation as a whole.
2. Blood and fat.

Answer: What was forbidden to be eaten?

Leviticus 7:22 & 27 The Lord stated that the life is in the blood and commanded that it be poured out on the ground. The fat was considered the Lord's portion.
3. The three places Aaron was anointed.

Answer: What are the right earlobe, the right big toe and the right thumb?

Leviticus 8:23 The forehead would be symbolic of knowledge and wisdom, and the right side was considered the place of honor and power. The right hand could signify anointing all that you do and the thigh could signify anointing wherever you go. Just a thought.
4. Died for offering unauthorized fire before the Lord.

Answer: Who are Nadab and Abihu?

Leviticus 10:1-2 The Lord had specific requirements for offering incense and offerings. These two decided to do it their way. As Jesus said, those who worship the Father must worship Him in Spirit and truth.
5. Clean animals (may be eaten)

Answer: What are locusts and crickets?

Leviticus 11:22 I don't know about you, but that does not sound too appetizing to me. The law was very specific about what the Israelites could and could not eat. I am so glad that members of my faith are not under the law but consider ourselves under grace. To be clean, animals had to have a cloven hoof, chew the cud and crawl upon legs on the ground - among a bunch of other requirements.
6. The time of purification required for the birth of a daughter, counting from the day of the birth.

Answer: What are 80 days?

Leviticus 12:5. The mother is unclean for two weeks and "shall continue in the blood of her purifying" for sixty-six days, for a total of eighty days. For a son the time of purification was 41 days (8+33). I'm not sure why there is a difference. After the time of purification, the mother was to take the required sacrifice of a lamb of the first year, and a young pigeon or turtledove.
7. The only day the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place.

Answer: What is the Day of Atonement?

Leviticus 16:30 This day is now known as Yom Kippur. This was the day that the High Priest entered into the Most Holy Place to offer the blood on the Ark of the Covenant to atone for the sins of the nation.
8. Number of days for work during the week in the Bible.

Answer: What is 6?

Leviticus 23:3 The seventh day was known as the Sabbath day. The Israelites could do all the work they wanted during the first six days but couldn't do anything on the seventh day (unless it was necessary to save a life). The word "Sabbath" means rest. Later, Jesus was accused of being a sabbath breaker when He did miracles on the sabbath day.
9. Took place 50 days after the wave offering.

Answer: What is the feast of weeks?

Leviticus 23:15-21 The feast of Trumpets took place on the first day of the 7th month, and the feast of Tabernacles took place on the 15th day of the seventh month. The feast of Weeks is often known as Shavuot.
10. How the blasphemer was to die.

Answer: What is by stoning?

Leviticus 24:23 The law of Moses prescribed death by stoning for anyone who blasphemed the Lord.
