Adonijah was the fourth son of King David and was assumed to be the oldest living son and expected to be the next king -- yet he took it upon himself to anoint himself king. 1 Kings 1:5-25
2. According to 1 Kings 8:9, when the Ark of the Covenant was placed into Solomon's Temple, were the only things in it the stone tablets with the ten commandments?

Answer: Yes

The ark was placed in the shade of the two cherubim and placed in the Most Holy Place of the Temple.
3. According 2 Kings 17:4, what happened to Hoshea, King of Israel, when Shalmaneser, King of Assyria attacked him?

Answer: he was imprisoned

Shalmaneser now considered Hoshea a traitor because he had stopped paying tributes to Shalmaneser, and was sending envoys to Egypt. 2 Kings 17:3-4
4. According to 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, how long was the reign of King David, combining the time he reigned in Hebron and in Jerusalem?

Answer: 40 years, 6 months

David was the only king listed in 1 Chronicles to have his time as ruler listed. The Bible does not say why it separates his children between Hebron and Jerusalem.
5. 1 Chronicles 21:1-15 is the story of King David having to choose a punishment for sinning against God. Which of the following was NOT a choice?

Answer: three weeks of darkness upon the land

This situation arose as a result of David listening to Satan and taking a census of Israel, even though Joab tried to convince David not to.
6. In 2 Chronicles 5:13, what did the people sing after the Ark was placed in Solomon's Temple? "He is good, His love endures _________."

Answer: forever

The people were praising and giving thanks to the Lord. After this the temple filled with a cloud and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 Chronicles 5:14
7. In Ezra 1:1-11, how many articles of gold and silver were returned to the temple of the Lord?

Answer: 5,400

The Lord moved the heart of Cyrus, the king of Persia, to build a temple in Jerusalem in Judah. After 70 years in exile, the captives from Judah were allowed to return.
8. What was Nehemiah's profession before he traveled to Judah?

Answer: cupbearer to the king

In Nehemiah 1:1-11, after speaking to his brother and hearing about the condition of Judah, Nehemiah prayed to God to help him receive favor from King Artaxerxes to go to Judah.
9. In Esther 2:19-23, who discovered the plot to kill King Xerxes?

Answer: Mordecai

Esther and Ruth are the only two books in the NIV Bible named for women. Esther was Mordecai's cousin whom he adopted because she had no mother or father. Esther 2:7
10. In Job 42:10, after all the suffering that Job went through, God rewarded his loyalty by making him prosperous again and giving him back the same as he had before.

Answer: False

God rewarded Job with TWICE as much as he had before. Job said in 2:10, "...Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" It is amazing that someone could suffer the woes that Job went through and yet never waver in his faith.
