Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the King James Version of the Holy Bible, what is the first word in the book of Revelation?

Answer: The

It says in Revelation 1:1, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John."

Many Christians believe that the Apostle John was the author of the book of Revelation.
2. What does Jesus say he will do to those who are "lukewarm" in Revelation 3:16 in the King James Version?

Answer: "I will spue thee out of my mouth."

It says in Revelation 3:16, "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

Lukewarm refers to those who are fence sitters. They may believe in something, but not fully.
3. It says in Revelation 5:12, "Worthy is the Lamb that was ___________..." What goes in the blank in the King James Version of the Bible?

Answer: slain

The full verse of 5:12 says, "Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

The "Lamb" refers to Jesus who Christians believe was killed on a cross to pay for everyone's sins.
4. What color horse came from the second seal?

Answer: red

It says in Revelation 6:4, "And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword."

The red of this horse symbolizes bloodshed and war to come.
5. What happened to the sea when the second trumpet sounded?

Answer: It became blood.

It says in Revelation 8:8, "And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood."

The sea becoming blood is in reference to the Plagues in the book of Exodus when the sea was turned to blood.
6. According to Revelation 9:11, what is the Greek name for the "angel of the bottomless pit" according to the King James Version of the Holy Bible?

Answer: Apollyon

It says in Revelation 9:11, "And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."

The name Apollyon is a Greek name and means destroyer.
7. What must a man have to buy or sell anything according to Revelation 13:17 in the King James Version?

Answer: The mark of the beast

It says in Revelation 13:17, "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

The mark of the beast is the number 666.
8. What location does the second angel speak of in Revelation 14:8 (KJV)?

Answer: Babylon

It says in Revelation 14:8, "And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."

Babylon was a city-state in southern Mesopotamia in Old Testament times.
9. In the King James Version of the Holy Bible, what name is Jesus given in Revelation 19:13?

Answer: The Word of God

It says in Revelation 19:13, "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."

This can be cross-referenced with John 1:14 which says "And the Word was made flesh..."
10. What does chapter 22 of the King James Version of the Holy Bible say the tree of life's leaves were for?

Answer: The healing of the nations

It says in Revelation 22:2, "In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

The tree of life was first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis. It was one of two major trees found in the Garden of Eden. The other was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
