Answer: Smyrna and Philadelphia

Smyrna was located about 40 miles north of Ephesus. This church was said to have been poor in material but rich in faith. Philadelphia was located about 28 miles southeast of Sardis. It was commended for patiently bearing hardship.
2. When addressing Pergamos Christ (through John) spoke of his faithful martyr. What was that Martyr's name?

Answer: Antipas

Antipas is the only martyr mentioned in Revelation, however other references are made to those who had "unto death faithfulness" (6:9, 7:13-14).

The origin of the Nicolaitians is unknown but they are believed to be of a doctrine of compromise.

Answer: Sardis

Sardis was the capitol of ancient Lydia. The congregation there was called dead, and was told to be watchful (wake up).
7. Which church was said to have left their first love?

Answer: Ephesus

Ephesus was located at the mouth of the Cayster River. It was the location of the temple of Diana (Artemis), one of the seven wonders of the world.
8. Thyatira suffered a woman who called herself a prophetess to seduce Christ's servants to fornication. Who was she?

Answer: Jezebel

Even though Thyatira was scolded for tolerating Jezebel in Revelation 2:20-23, they were commended for their charity, service, faith, patience and works.
9. Some of the congregation in Pergamos held the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.

Answer: True

In Revelation 2:15 he reminds them that he hates the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate."
