Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which team came first and which team came last respectivally in the home and away season ?

Answer: Port Adelaide and Carlton

A great season for Port Adelaide but under-achieved in the finals only reaching the Preliminary Final, while Carlton didn't have a lot of big name players and finished a fair bit below the next highest team, St Kilda.
2. What team got into the Final Eight after beating the Kangaroos in Round 22 ?

Answer: West Coast

West Coast only sealed eighth after having a big win against the Kangaroos. They beat both Geelong and Hawthorn on percentage.
3. Which team had the highest percentage that wasn't in the Final Eight ?

Answer: Sydney

Me being a Swans supporters, it was a very fustrating and disappointing year with so many losses being less than ten points, that gave them a percentage of 106.52% the next best being the Western Bulldogs with 103.96%.
4. Adelaide had the worst accuracy in the first week of the finals ?

Answer: True

It was against Brisbane they didn't play very well and it didn't help them scoring 5.14.44 to Brisbane's 17.13.115, on a wet Brisbane evening.
5. At he end of the Grand Final, what was the final margin and who won the Norm Smith Medal ?

Answer: 9 points and Nathan Buckley

A fantastic game in awful conditions, the final score was 10.15.75 to 9.12.66 in favour of Brisbane and quite rightly Nathan Buckley deserved the medal after leading the team well.
6. Jason Akermanis got both the goal and mark of the year ?

Answer: False

He did get the goal of the year but his team mate Jonathon Brown received the mark of the year.
7. How many goals did David Neitz score to get the Coleman Medal ?

Answer: 75

David Neitz had a great year for the Demons, kicking a lot of goals in some matches but his team lost to Adelaide in the Qualifying Final by 12 points and were eliminated.
8. Who won the Rising Star award ?

Answer: Nick Riewoldt

A fantastic year for Nick, who was the only shining light in a very disappointing year for the Saints.
9. Who votes to determine the winner of The Lou Richards Medal ?

Answer: TV Commentators

The commentators do a fantastic job to call the match but also to pick the best out of each match. Paul Williams was a very worthy winner this year on 77 points edging out Brownlow Medallist Simon Black on 74 points.
10. Who came second in the Brownlow Medal count ?

Answer: Josh Francou

It went down to the final vote, all players had a fantastic year but all top five scorers were consistent midfielders and were probably the best player in each club.
