Greece won the match 1-0. Angelos Charisteas was the maker of the goal. Portugal was the losing finalist, Holland was beaten by Portugal in the semi-finals and San Marino did not qualify for the Euro 2004 finals tournament.

He did score one (very late) goal, but was not the only goal. He played for Aston Villa in the English Premier League.

Zagorakis was the captain of Greece. He played a good tournament, better than any other player. Charisteas also played for Greece and scored a lot of goals. The midfielder Deco played for Portugal, but he played not very good. Petkov played for Bulgaria, but his team was even not qualified for the quarterfinals.
